Hi,

recently came back to Flight Sim-ing and Plan-G was of course top of the list.
I've been using it without issue for the last few weeks but today, no Airspace, Intersection or Airways will show.

I've already tried deleting the user config that I saw suggested else where but to no avail.

I rebuilt the data base and no change.

All airports, VOR, NBDs, VRP, POI, Obstacles work fine, just not Airspace etc.

To add, this is with MSFS2020, Plan-G V4.0.0262 (latest download)

I had issues posting this as the abbreviation for Air Traffic Control is not ATC apparently?

daveo132

I see someone else had this issue.  I'm not sure if it was resolved but I'm adding some more info here.
32GB Ram
Zoom Level 10 (also tried other levels with not change)

Anyone have anything on this?
Issue still persists.

Last resort will be a full reinstall.

tim arnot

The issue appears to be you have no airspace in your database. This is most likely the result of an error during the database build.

Restart your PC and then build the database again. If there's still no airspace showing, post the log from the build here (it'll likely be quite large, so it's okay to zip it).

Well that fixed, but how odd.
It's one of the first things I tried to do to fix it, but it didn't make a change.

Oh well, I'm not going to question that any further.

Thanks,

daveo132

One thing to add, I can see a difference in the resulting Air Space.
ie, now the area's are not shaded where as they used to be.

I wonder if that points to the issue?

daveo132

Sorry one other thing I noticed is some odd naming since the rebuild.  But maybe a FS issue?
Doesn't look like I can paste the image but the info panel shows (also this would be nice if we could copy the text).

For Cardiff Airport the info panel shows:

QuoteEGFF  -TT:AIRPORTEK.EGFF.name - TT:AIRPORTEK.EGFF.city
TT:AIRPORTEK.EGFF.country

Then all other info looks correct

tim arnot

That means it didn't find the locPak file that contains the name lookups. You should see an entry in the log that details that failure. It's worth checking in case there's something odd going on.

You can specify a locpak file in the build settings dialog (typically this is for non-English languages, but you can specify the English one too). On my PC, the locpak is in E:\MSFS\Official\OneStore\fs-base\en-US.locPak

Tim. @TimArnot

daveo132

Ah ok!
That's an easy fix then, thanks.

It may be because I have a custom install location.

daveo132

All sorted now.
Looks like at some point I had selected the wrong locPak, looks like there are a few knocking around in different folders.
Anyway working as intended.

Thanks for the help!

Plan-G No longer showing airport icons in part of the world.
Been using Plan G for many years and never had any issues.
Now, all of the sudden and for no obvious reason airport icons are missing for countries outside europe, i.e. Asia.
I rebuilt database several times without remedy of the problem.
Can you help?
I can provide the respective log
regards

tim arnot

What sim is this for?

Yes, please attach the log. Thanks.

Ok thanks. It's running out of memory. MSFS database build is pretty much right on the limit for a 32-bit application (I'm in the process of writing a separate 64-bit app just to build databases, but that's a little way off yet). What you may need to do in the short term is try and maximise the amount of memory available: Reboot the PC then run Plan-G and build the database as the first things you do.

Here is a copy of my database you can use also, but it may not match your sim configuration (I have Navigraph data installed, for example): https://www.dropbox.com/s/e75e7tcp71fzpr4/Plan-G_NavDataMSFS.zip?dl=0

Problem is fixed, thank you for the fast response.
Airport icons do show again
