Plan-G / Re: Connecting to V3
January 08, 2014, 11:01:12 PM
Hi Tim,

Yes I copied the data from the FS Pc to the remote.  They appear in the data file on the remote but don't seem to have any effect.

I still can't open up anything.

Thanks,

Plan-G / Connecting to V3
January 07, 2014, 11:43:27 PM

I have installed V3 on my networked computer.  The computers are talking to each other.  When I Install FSX it is connected to the second computer and Wide FS says it is connected to the main PC.  The problem I have is when I open V3 I only have access to loading data and when I try, I am not able to connect to FSX.  I have tried copying the data files into V3 but they are still not being read.

Any help will be appreciated as I have been working on this for several days.  Thanks in advance.

I had it set on FSUIPC but when I just looked at it it was back to auto.  I have set it back to FSUIPC.

Plan-G / Plan G crash on connect
January 25, 2011, 03:27:01 AM
I have Plan G installed on my network computer.  After connecting to the main PC via Wide FS Plan G crashes unless I "Clear all settings" first.  Then it works with no further problems.

Is there a way to avoid his?  While this is not a difficult task, I am not sure it is supposed to work this way.  My .xml file has IPV4 as the protocol, 192.168.1.1 address and 4506 as the port.  The FS Connection Parameters in Plan G are FSUIPC, IPV4, 192.168.1.1 and 4506.

I am using WIN 7 64 bit, i7980X CPU, 6GB ram, and ATI radeon HD5850 GPU.

Can this be corrected?

Thanks for a great program.

Tim,

I have tried other locations to start from such as London, Phoenix, Portland Oregon and Lewiston Idaho.  The results are the same.  After resetting Clear settings and Map reset Plan G will connect and run until I shut the program down.  I then have to reset again on the next startup.

Tim,

Unless I have reinstalled the data, the map is positioned over KSEA.  In this instance I have reset the data files and it does connect properly.  This could be part of the problem since I have only tried opening it at KSEA.  I tried turning off all of the overlays, airports, vor's etc and only having the bare map come up and it still crashes.  The weather was turned off.  If I can select connect before any of the terrain starts to show, it will connect properly.  I guess I will try loading at another position and see what happens.

Tim,

One additional comment is that when I connect, the yellow airplane comes up at the right airport and then the program crashes.

I just discovered something.  I have been waiting for the program to completely load before I would go to connect.  I just hurriedly went and connected while the program was still loading and it finished loading with out crashing.  I disconnected and connected immediately again and it worked okay.

That should be a clue to something.

Tim,

I turned off traffic, (removed check from box), Went to connect and it crashed as before.  I went through Clear All Settings, Map Reset, and reinstalled the data files then connected normally.  I then shut down the program and restarted and as soon as I connected it crashed.

I can run it with these extra steps and am providing this info for you in case you want to trouble shoot.  It is a great program which I greatly appreciate.

I ran sfc /scannow then launched Plan-G.  It loaded then crashed immediately after selecting connect.

Thanks for the suggestion.  We will figure it out yet.

Arno,

Thanks for the info.  I have been running as administrator.  Plan G is installed on the XP computer.  I originally did not have it in the Program Files folder.  But recently re-installed it in the Program Files folder to see if it made a difference.

This is a wierd problem.  As I have indicated, I can get it to run if I go through the resets and then reinstall the data files.  Then If I exit the program and restart it crashes it crashes.
