Wow, looks brilliant Tim. I was wondering what you have been up to with Plan-G since 0.91.

I hope you don't mind a question. Does the Aerodrome Chart and Approach information come directly from FS9/FSX or is it sourced from 3rd party data?

Regards,
Serge

Plan-G / Re: Airport Feathers

I believe the red feathers indicate a localiser (lateral guidance) only while the green feathers indicate a localiser and glide slope (lateral and vertical guidance).

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Plan-G / Plan-G version 0.9.x Feedback
February 22, 2010, 08:17:29 AM
G'day Tim,

I've been using Plan-G since the early beta releases (I run Plan-G on a Laptop connecting to FSX via my local network using simconnect) and have been very pleased with the software however I have noticed a definite performance drop with versions 0.9.0 and 0.9.1. The software has become very "laggy" and I also experience constant "software not responding" issues where I am forced to shut down Plan-G and restart it.

Due to the above issues I have now reverted back to using version 0.8.1. I have no lag issues with this version and I never have the problem of the software not responding. I do miss the new features you introduced with versions 0.9.x though.

I'm not sure if anything can be done about this but I thought I should bring these issues I am having to your attention.

Regards,
Serge

Plan-G / User Manual Comment
January 13, 2010, 03:56:08 AM
I would like to say thanks to the user manual team members for producing such a professional document, particularly as this is for a freeware add-on. At 68+ pages it is a great effort. In my opinion it is of a higher quality than many of the manuals out there for payware add-ons and other professional software.

Well done.

Plan-G / Suggestion - Map Bookmarks
November 05, 2009, 07:47:36 AM
G'day Tim,

Would it be possible to incorporate the ability to add map bookmarks which would then be accessible from a drop down list (or similar) for quick access? If you want an example of what I refer to have a look at VAT-Spy which has this feature. It would be handy to be able to bookmark (or save) a number of views and then be able to return to them quickly at a later time or even another session.

Just an idea.  ;)

Cheers,
Serge

Plan-G / Re: Problem when using Plan-G with REX

Thanks for responding Tim.

It makes no difference whether I start REX first or Plan-G first. Also, it occurs regardless of the page that is displayed in the REX GUI. It also doesn't matter whether Plan-G is connected to FSX or not.

With REX running I can not use the right-click menu to add an airport to a flight plan in Plan-G. What I have noticed however is that I can right-click anywhere else and get the option to add a user way-point, add display rings or hide display rings however whenever I move the cursor over an airport or nav aid icon no tooltip displays and if I right-click there are no options displayed. If I shut down REX the right-click option to add an airport will display immediately (I don't even need to restart Plan-G).

Not sure what else to look at.

Serge

Plan-G / Problem when using Plan-G with REX
October 14, 2009, 01:56:47 PM
G'day Tim,

I currently run Plan-G on a laptop and connect to FSX (installed on my desktop) via my network and it works great. I have now also installed REX on the laptop and also connect it to FSX via my network. This also works great.

One thing I have noticed however is that when I have the REX GUI open I lose the functionality of the right-click menu in Plan-G (eg. I can't add an airport to my flight plan). As soon as I close REX the right-click functionality returns to normal and I can add an airport.

I'm not sure if this is a REX issue or a Plan-G issue. I thought I would post here first to see what your response is before I try the REX forum.

Does anyone else have REX installed where they can test this please?

Thanks for this great software.

Cheers,
Serge
