I have run into the a similar problem. Plan G is terminating a few seconds after the desktop map displays, and the typical error message refers to the fault module 'kernelbase.dll'. Recently I installed Windows 7 32 bit and Plan G v 2.0.5.493 did run fine in Windows 7 until a few days ago. Multiple uninstalls and reinstalls have not been successful. I also checked for 'run as admin'.
I checked my system log and updates, and apparently a key event which happened after my last successful load of Plan G was that Windows Update installed .NET Framework 4. Apparently I must have had Framework 3.5 before the problems began. Does this provide further clues about this issue?
Anyway, I tried 'ClearAllSettings.exe' in the Plan G folder, and marvellous! It worked. After a re-install the database set up and everything looks good. Thanks for that tip, Tim. I don't recall seeing it in the manual, but I did find reference to this program in the ReadMe.txt file (to Uninstall). :azn:
