Plan-G / Re: Small Suggestion For Future Version

Part minor suggestion, part query.  Tim, is it me but having just started using v3 (50) it seems less sharp to my tired old eyes, I keep thinking I've left my glasses off.  Guess some of it comes from the mapping but also things like range circles, airspace boundaries are thicker and slightly fuzzy?  Also, the font.  when your eyes are not as good, you need something like Arial the menus with the new font not as clear  (to me).  Can it be a setting or in ..ini or something.  Know its a bit picky but otherwise no problems.  I see there is some hint of terrain in the mapquest as wll by the way!

Plan-G / Plan-G Fatal Errors and Plan Elevation
April 17, 2012, 05:22:43 PM
Hi Tim, as you know from Mutley's, I'm doing a lot of flying over the PNW.  All has been fine mostly with Plan-G, only occasional stopped working which I thought was internet connection.
However, last few daysPlan-g goes down ofeten, mor with fatal error than stopped working.  Signficantly the Plan Elevation has stopped showing/working.  I've re-installed Plan-G and all the DEM tiles and for example just now, not connected to FS clicked on elevation, nothing showed and seconds later Plan-G fataled.  I don't know if its related, but of course I'm running AH and I also get FSX CTD if I fly a direct bearing from Kamloops to Blue River for example, GPS or NAV.  That may be scenery/FSX related though.  I'm flying OrbX obviously, I've also reinstalled .NET and I have the latest FSUIPC.  The Plan Elevation bit has me flummoxed.  The only new things in last week are Carenado U206G and the Kodiak - but - I have also installed Tongass Fjords tho' I can't really see how these could cause . . .

If you have any ideas at all - i'd bevery grateful! :c017:   Oh - happens without AH as well             . . .

Cheers,  Mike

I've been having similar - and have also tried re-installing.  Its managed to crash some of my long flights . .   Anyway - on latest "not responding", I just left it and waited - and after a while, map appeared  - with all sorts of spidery lines all over - possibly routes.  so as a guess - I'd say - as Plan-G needs an internet connection - that there's a gremlin or worse on the server side - mapsources. When I say "or worse" possible hack attack . . and as no answer yet - that Tim is either away  - or beavering away . .

Thanks for that Tim,  - FSinn settings wide and the MP shows in FSX stock radar so its something with the radar - thinking cap mode on!

Plan-G / Plan G and multiplayer
February 11, 2011, 04:17:54 PM
Tim, a question please if you can.  When in FSinn multiplayer our aircraft not showing the MP aircraft in traffic or radar, just AI, but FSX does show MP  along with AI.  But Plan-G is also showing the multiplayer traffic with correct tagging.  Did you have to use anything special to pick it up or is it just in normal feed with AI?

Thanks,  Mike
