Plan-G / Two Monitor Display
September 16, 2012, 12:16:47 PM
Hello

this is a return for me to Plan G and VFR flying. The programme is great and is a freeware must for flight planning. I have V3 installed.

I am operating 2 monitors with the one directly in front of me designated the main (number 1).  The problem I have is that when running  FS9 (XP) and I fire up Plan G on monitor number two (right secondary monitor) alongside FS9 on monitor number 1 (main) and try to interrogate the map/airports etc to set up a flight plan, FS9 crashes.  Plan G still shows on monitor 2. There is no message when the crash occurs. I've played around with NVIDIA settings/properties  for hours but run out of ideas.
FSX runs just fine and I can display both Plan G and the sim (albeit in windowed mode). I don't even get that 'window' option in FS9 as it just crashes as soon as I try to interrogate or move the map.  Just as a side note, I always thought that FS9 would accept a second monitor display without the need to put the sim into window mode!  I thought it might be something to do with 'resolution' but I've exhaused nearly all the settings without resolving the problem.  I guess ultimately I can do without the visual display and just use Plan G to setup a flight plan manually but that would be a pity as I've grown rather fond of the little 'yellow' aeroplane!  in FSX.

Anyone got any ideas which may help me resolve this problem please ?   Brian

Plan-G / Re: Exporting Flt Plan to Reality XP Garmin 500W

Thanks Tim. I think my use of the description '500' is just a general term for the 400/500 series but yes it is the 530. Just as I thought that I don't think it is possible.  cheers

Plan-G / Exporting Flt Plan to Reality XP Garmin 500W
September 02, 2011, 04:59:22 PM
Just registered having found this marvellous software. It must be the find of the year for me!

Just a quick question, I am running the Reality XP Garmin 500W in which I can create a flight plan but because the Pan G gives such a stunning visual experience and is technically easier to use in many ways I was wondering whether I could get the best of both Worlds by importing a plan created by Plan G into my Garmin 500W and still have the visual experience of Plan G? Use of the Garmin 500W makes the stock FSX GPS redundant. The only problem I think would be that the Garmin has its own data base which may be in a different 'plan' file format.
