Flight Planning / Re: Set ILS frequency on NAV1 radio

"Setting this by hand is prone to errors so, obviously, it is very much needed"

Geez... I wonder what real pilots do.. They have an option to right click? I hope so, or it'd be prone to errors...  :P  :azn:

I don't use that particular setup myself, so I never looked into the details of making Plan-G working on a different computer, but I thought I could make a suggestion based only on my knowledge of computers. There's probably something written somewhere on how to do this in a Plan-G fashion, so is someone else has anything better to offer, please do...

You indicated you're stuck at the spot where you need to build the database. Is the fsx folder visible from that laptop? If not, then you would need to share your FSX folder on the network. Then, (and this is totally optional) just to make life easier on yourself, map that folder to a drive letter. Then you should be able to build the database by pointing it to that drive letter (or to the full unc path if you didn't map it to a drive letter).

I hope this helps.

I see that it is slower. What I also see is that the AI aircraft symbols on the map blink like a Christmas tree constantly, which is quite annoying. So I think I'll live with the crashes and switch back to simconnect...

Alright.. I'll switch over to FSUIPC then. Hopefully that'll resolve the issue.. Well, Plan-G crashing is less frustrating than FSX crashing anyway :) Thanks for the info Tim!

Running Win 8.1-64bit
FSX SP2
Plan-G 3.1.2.101
FSUIPC 4.938a
Connected to same PC via SimConnect, IPv4

I experience random crashes from Plan-G. At first, I thought only when connected, but apparently it happens when not connected to FSX. Is there any option or command line or something I can run so we can pinpoint why this is happening? I've tried changing my connection to FSUIPC, and get the same. I tried running FSX with no weather add-on, turned traffic to 0, same thing. So I'm really not sure what else to try. Any suggestions?

thanks!

Edit: I actually had the idea of looking at the System Event Log and here's what I see for the latest crash:

Does that help?

Plan-G / Re: Repetitive hard disk access
January 16, 2015, 10:13:31 PM
Liofa, something else you could do is see exactly which files are being accessed by which process. If you open the "Resource Monitor" in windows, and select the Disk tab, you'll be able to see what's being accessed. Then leave your system idle for a while and see what goes on. On my system, I see that Plan-G is quite active for a bit when I first load a flight plan and connect to FSX, but then, the file access stops, completely, from Plan-G.

I hope this helps.

Awesome, thanks for looking into it. Looking forward to V3 :)

Thanks for looking into it Tim. It actually happened on a few different plans (which I unfortunately did not save) but seems to happen mostly when I have the destination at a "not-large-airport). For example, I was going from Jasper to CFH8 (Zajes) and had the same problem.

Plan-G / PlanG and FSX don't agree on airport location
January 29, 2012, 03:43:54 PM
I use FSX, and PlanG 2.0.5.493.  I created a flight plan in PG from CYEG to CEN4.  Both locations show fine on the map. I load the plan in FSX, and FSX seem to think my destination is over 3000NM away from where it actually is.  I re-create the same plan in FSX, and everything is as it should be. Very simple plan, from airport to airport, no waypoints in between.  I compared both pln files, to see if I could spot the difference, and I couldn't figure out the difference.  If you'd like to have a look at the files, there's pasted here:

PlanG format: http://pastebin.com/biykJ8V1

FSX Format: http://pastebin.com/07PpU01V

thanks!
