Plan-G / Re: JavaScript API V2

I also prefer V2; it is much better for VFR flights in my opinion.   It was a sad day when it stopped working.
Tim, I sure hope there is something you can do to get it working again.   Just like others none of the flight planning tools works to add waypoints or airports to the flight plan.  And after a few minutes the script errors show up making it unusable.

Got my fingers crossed for a fix.   :P

I am hoping there is someone out there that can help with a fix for this issue.  I really like v2 for VFR bush flying in the mountains because of the terrain maps.  It used to work just fine but something happened and I can no longer connect to FSX.  PlanG is on my client laptop using wideFS to connect via FSUIPC to FSX.  My firewall is turned off and I also have PlanG set to be allowed through the firewall.

Every time I try to connect I get a window stating PlanG has stopped working.  Here is the text from the Win7 Event Viewer for this application error.
"Faulting application name: PlanG.exe, version: 2.0.5.493, time stamp: 0x4d836f53
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.1.7601.18015, time stamp: 0x50b83c8a
Exception code: 0xe0434352
Fault offset: 0x0000c41f
Faulting process id: 0x710
Faulting application start time: 0x01ce19d4bd660407
Faulting application path: C:\TA Software\Plan-G v2\PlanG.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\syswow64\KERNELBASE.dll
Report Id: 188002bc-85c8-11e2-ab0a-082e5f78999f

I would really like to get this working again for my bush flying.   v3 works just fine on this same setup without any connection errors from the same laptop.  I have already done a reinstall of v2 but that didn't help any.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Plan-G / Re: v2.0.5 stopped showing Traffc

Thanks Tim, good to know it is ok to use both.   Do you have any ideas what I can do to get the traffic following to work again in v2?  I have checked all the settings and they are still set to show traffic.  However, v2 stopped showing my traffic a week or so ago.  With the same settings v3 is working correctly and showing traffic.  Could my recent upgrade of FSUIPC have anything to do with this?
Thanks

Plan-G / v2.0.5 stopped showing Traffc
February 02, 2013, 12:27:54 AM
I like to do a lot of bush flying in Alaska and find that v2 gives me much better terrain detail for going low under clouds down the valleys, through the mountains, etc.
Recently my v2 stopped showing traffic and I can't find a reason for it.  None of my settings were changed by me; don't know if some computer update changed something I don't know about.
I run PlanG on client laptop connected to my FSX computer with FSUIPC v4859r [recent upgrade] (haven't had good luck getting SimConnect to work for me).

The second part of this problem is about half of the time I try to connect to FSX with v2 I get an error window that says "PlanG has stopped working".  I don't know if this all started when I did the upgrade to FSUIPC but it could be close to the same time.

I also have v3 loaded on same computer for use at higher altitudes.  I hope that does not cause problems.  BTW, v3 connect & traffic are working just fine at the same time v2 won't show traffic anymore and has intermittent connect problems (just in case you are wondering - I don't run both at the same time).  :)

Appreciate any help someone can provide.
Thanks

Thank you Tim, that did it so now I can go learn how your great program works.  This looks like fun!

I'm Brand new today
I just downloaded Plan-G today, read through the manual, got the locations for FSX and scenery identified, ran the data load and Plan-G works great.  What a great program!

Then I started FSX and set up aircraft & location shown in the manual example, page 78.  Then connected Plan-G and all the aircraft icons showed around the area for my AC and Traffic so it was getting data from FSX.  As soon as I connect Plan-G it causes FSX to minimize and when I try to maximize it I get a black flash (split second) on the screen and then nothing - FSX is gone again.

I have 2 monitors and have tried Plan-G on each with the same results.  My computer is running Win7 (64bit) and all parts of the Plan-G install worked fine.  It is not on a network; all in this PC.  I can run FSX by itself and Plan-G by itself but the two together won't allow FSX to show on the screen.  I sure do want this program to work for me as it looks like an extreme improvement to enhance my flight sim experience.  When FSX is running normally on the primary screen my secondary screen is black so I can't show any other window on that screen while FSX is running.  I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not but it has always been that way since I have been using FSX.

I sure hope someone knows what I need to be do to get this fixed and get them running together.
Thanks
Jerry
