V4 Beta / System File Check
September 26, 2020, 12:43:20 PM
Hi.

Not sure if this will be any benefit however, in the past, I have found running a system file check (sfc /scannow) has cleared up a lot of problems with FSX and P3D. I recently encountered a problem where, with the alpha version of Plan-G, I could not load any of the flight plans I created would load into P3D V5. After running a system file check that cleaned up some corrupted files, everything worked fine.

Again, I'm not sure this would be of any help, however, it may be worth trying.

I run the Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool before running the system file checker. (DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth). If errors are found I run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth; then will run sfc /scannow.

Thx,

mike

V4 Beta / Re: Unable to load Flight Plans into P3d V5
September 25, 2020, 01:02:19 PM
Hi Tim.

I just ran sfc /scannow and it reported several corrupt files which where fixed.

The flight plans I created are now loading.

If the problem occurs again, I'll let you. For now, it seems to be working OK.

How do you attach a file in the forum? Or do you just open it in note pad and paste the text?

Sorry to have bothered you with this. Should have thought about running sfc /scannow before I posted.

Thanks,

Mike

V4 Beta / Unable to load Flight Plans into P3d V5
September 25, 2020, 03:01:07 AM
Hi all.

I don't seem to be able to load a flight plan into P3D V5. I'm currently running Plan G - Alpha Build 4.0.0.228. I encountered the same problem with the two previous builds.

The odd thing is, P3D v5 will load older flight plans.

Thanks,

Plan-G / Where to save P3d V4 database
September 15, 2020, 01:38:02 PM
Hi.

Where would I save a P3d V4 database to have Plan g 3.2.2 generate a DB for P3d V5?

Thanks,

Mike

Plan-G / Re: YSCB shows as XSCB ??
February 04, 2017, 08:30:08 PM
Hi. Am using FSX:SE. I may have found a solution to the problem:

In the scenery.cfg file:

X_Groups for YSCB was showing as "NSW" (X_Groups=Australia Airports - NSW). I changed this to read "ACT" as shown below. This seems to have worked as YSCB is now showing up; it's no longer showing as "XSCB". I'm not sure why it shows as NSW; it may install that way from ORBX. Regardless, it has not negatively impacted FSX:SE and seems to have fixed the problem.

Thanks for your replies.

PS: Databases had to be rebuilt after the change.

[Area.171]
Title=FTXAA_YSCB_CITYSCAPE
Local=ORBX\FTX_AU\FTXAA_YSCB_CITYSCAPE
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE
X_Groups=Australia Airports - ACT
Layer=171

Plan-G / YSCB shows as XSCB ??
February 03, 2017, 10:32:21 PM
Hi.

Plan G for some time has shown Canberra airport (YSCB) as XSCB. I have installed FTX's Canberra airport and scenery, however, after trying just about everything I can think of, I still cannot get YSCB to display.

Databases have been rebuilt; YSCB is an active airport; YSCB shows in the scenery.cfg - XSCB does not.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ran the rebuild of the database; Meigs is now showing.

I am taking it that after adding airports/scenery, it is necessary to rebuild the Plan-G database. I'll do that in the future.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks. I'll try the rebuild. Won't be surprised if Meigs doesn't show up as it was closed some 10 years back (I think).

Plan-G / Meigs Field Chicago

Hi. Recently installed ORBX Meigs Field but cannot see Meigs Field in Plan-G. Is there some way to update the airfields in plan-G?

Thanks,

That fixed it.

I thought I had however, when I rebuilt after reading this post, I chose the "Scenery" folder specifically rather than the parent FTX_AU. I gather I need to add all of these folders to get the correct info.

Thx for your help. This is a great product!

Hi.

I know this has been discussed previously however I can't find it.

In Plan G, at some airports in an FSX exported flight plan, the starting position is incorrect. How do you fix this? A specific case is FTX Moorabbin in Oz.

Thx

Thx for that. Sometimes there is an advantage being half way around the world - you get fast replies. Only hassel is I have to wait to get home from work to set it up  :)
