Somewhere on this forum gave me the answer, for some reason the IP addresses would not match up, so I just use the name of my computer under "Users" instead of the IP address and it connects fine. Just make sure it is the same in the Simconnect.xml and in settings in PlanG.

Sorted
I forgot to add </SimBase.Document> to the end of the xml.file. Stupid......

Plan-G / Getting timed out connection with simconnect
October 16, 2012, 09:37:38 AM
Hi
I have been trying to use Plan g with a second computer. I cannot connect, I have checked the log and the last entry is
Simconnect.Connect-remote. Mode=IPv4 Server 192.168.0.3 Port=4505
Simconnect connection timed out
Disconnect.

I have checked both settings are the same in simconnect.xml and in the plan g FS Connection Parameters. I don't see an option to save your settings when you change them, Can anyone please help ?
Here is y simconnect.xml

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?><SimBase.Document Type="SimConnect" version="1,0"><Descr>SimConnect</Descr><Filename>SimConnect.xml</Filename>
<SimConnect.Comm><Disabled>False</Disabled><Protocol>IPv4</Protocol><Scope>global</Scope><Address>

192.168.0.3

</Address><MaxClients>64</MaxClients><Port>4505</Port><MaxRecvSize>4096</MaxRecvSize><DisableNagle>False</DisableNagle></SimConnect.Comm>

Thanks

Plan-G / Please help !!
October 14, 2012, 12:51:02 PM
Please bear with me as I am a bit of a computer nerd.. I am trying to connect my second computer running windows XP to run Plan G to network with my main computer running FSX with Windows 7. I have tried to follow the tutorial.I have installed Plan G on my second computer. When I click on Build Navigation database/settings/FSX Program browse/My Network Places/ E on Paul-pc (where FSX is installed) I get an error message  " Paul-pc\e is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this system resource. I assume that because the second computer can see my primary computer that they are networked OK.
Can anyone please help ?
On a side note I read somewhere about simconnect put I cannot fathom out if this would help. I do not have the paid version on FSUIPC either.
Many thanks.
