Plan-G / TongassX .KMZ location
January 11, 2011, 02:26:39 PM
I searched and didn't find any references here.  Hope this hasn't been asked before.
Does anyone know where to find the TongassX .kmz URL?  Or is there one?
Apparently the .kmz file that is out there is some type of hybrid that doesn't show in Plan-G.  So what I'm looking for is the .kmz file sans the compass tool and sectional maps.
I fly ORBX PNW, PFj, NRM a lot.  TongassX ajoins PFj, so it would be really nice if I could also see the TongassX .kmz file.  Any help would really be appreciated.

I really want to thank Tim and his crew for this PHENOMENAL software.  Thanks guys.

Plan-G / Re: Waypoint search problem in Plan-G V9
January 29, 2010, 08:27:05 PM
Tim:
I'm sorry I asked the question.  I remembered what I did in P-G_V8.

1. Go to "Find Waypoint".
2. Type the first few letters of the waypoint name.  This will filter the display.
3. Left click on the waypoint you are seaching for.
4. The waypoint name appears in the box.
5.  Click on okay.
6. VOILA!  P-G_V9 (Like P-G_V8) takes you to the waypoint in Google.

     Works like a champ.

Plan-G / Waypoint search problem in Plan-G V9
January 27, 2010, 07:12:03 PM
I go to "Find waypoint"  I scroll down throught the list and find the waypoint.  I click on the waypoint I want to find.  This waypoint appears in the box at the top of the window.  When I click okay, nothjing happens.  This happened in V8 once, but I can't remember what i did to fix the problem.  I tried the search fgor airport and it worked fine.  I'm pretty sure it's something I've done wrong, but i can't figure out what the problem is.

Thanks in advance.

Plan-G / Re: Plan-G slowdown
January 06, 2010, 06:48:29 PM
Tim:
Sorry to be slow getting back to you.  My weather is already off, so that doesn't seem to be the proble.
I've played around a bit and have found that if I don't load in a very detailed plan then Plan-G works fine.

GREAT SOFTWARE

Always loved FSNav in FS9.  Plan-G is liek FSNav on the biggest load of steroids around.  Thanks.

Plan-G / Re: 2nd Monitor just for Plan-G questions?
January 05, 2010, 05:11:12 PM
I run a 22" widescreen monitor at 1600x1200 on right and a 17" normal  at 1024x768 monitor on left.  It really works great.  When I boot Plan-G it comes up on the right monitor full screen.  Then I click on the "Maximize/Restore Down" button in the upper right corner of the screen.  I then drag the Plan-G window to the left screen and doubnle click on the "Menu Bar" at the top of Plan-G window.  Plan-G then fills the left screen and away I go.

I bought the 17" monitor expressly for use with Plan-G and it was worth every cent I spent.  I had always been interested in a second screen.  But thought it would be to complicated.  Plan-G begs for a second screen so I figured it couldn't be to tricky.  It wasn't.

Plan-G / Plan-G slowdown
January 03, 2010, 09:39:58 PM
First and foremost, THIS IS FANTASTIC SOFTWARE!  Thanks very, very much Tim.
I installed V081 build 389 11-26-09.  It ran great.  Very smooth.  No perceptible frame hits.  I fly heli's in Tongass Fjords FSX.  I created several flight plans & waypoints to different U.S.F.S. cabins located within this scenery area (86).  Also several glaciers and other points of interest (Approx. 80).  With no new software added Plan-G seems to have really come down with a case of the slows.  Now instead of 4-5 sec. connect time with registered FSUIPC it takes well over a minute.  Also the program seems to "Freeze" for several seconds at a time now.  The a/c icon doesn't move and am unable to zoom in/out or access menus.  Windows task manager reports that Plan-G is running.

I've tried moving my heli to another location where there are no waypoints or flightplan loaded, connect time is back to 4-5 seconds and the a/c icon and all other items return to their normal "Fluid" selves.  I tried connecting to an area rather high in waypoints and did not load a flightplan.  This seemed to help some.

Could the rather busy flightplans or the heavy concentration of waypoints be the cause of the slowdown?  Are the waypoints stored in the "Plan-G.mdb" file or the VRP.mdb" file?  If the waypoints are stored in the "VRP.mdb" file, how can I reset this to default?  I really want to get the "Fluidity" of the original Plan-G install back.

Tim, again I really want to thank you very, very much for this incredible piece of software.

P.S. One tiny bit of "Wish List Fluff".  Any possible chance of user definable a/c icons?  That tubeflyer doesn't look anything like my heli :D

Cockpit Chatter / Re: absolutely outstanding job!

D/L'd this program last weekend.  WOW!!  I used FSNav in FS9.  I really liked it a lot.  I was very dissapointed when I couldn't use FSNav in FSX.

I fly helicopters so the VFR part of Plan-G really appealed to me.  I D/L'd the file, installed and fired it up.  FANTASTIC!!  Google Earth/Maps is one of my favorite aps.  But, they don't seem to get along well with FSX.  FSX and Plan-G get alonfg like old time lovers.  Tim, I don't know how you did it but thank you so much.

FSNav,  who needs it?  I have Plan-G (Like FSNav on steroids)
