Plan-G / Re: another Win7 installation
August 05, 2010, 07:21:46 PM
Tim,

When IE wouldn't open other maps, I found Java(script) needed to be on... hadn't realized it was still off - I don't use W7 yet for much except FSX.

We're good to go. Thanks

Plan-G / another Win7 installation
August 05, 2010, 05:42:49 PM
Plan-G on Win7(64) updates current
IE 8.0.7600.16385
UAC off
FSX w/acceleration
Plan-G location in user subfolder (not programs)
FSUIPC4 available and installed
connection (auto)
antivirus not in ongoing monitor mode

my case is similar to granpa's
http://www.tasoftware.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=924.0
but I get NO image from the htm file or Plan-G
I hope it's not just a grandfather 'thing'.

1. built FSX database
2. looked at user waypoints

I've gotten much too dependent on this amazing utility; it works fine on the same hardware under XP with FSX sp1. I would like to get it working on W7(64) with FSX-Acceleration

Plan-G / Incorrect waypoint display
July 30, 2010, 02:45:29 AM
Tim,
per your request, flight plan coordinates that display incorrectly...

Any coordinate set that does not contain degrees, minutes, and seconds (even if it is exact digital degrees) equates to zero and displays at 0 meridian and/or equator.

my waypoint 7 and varieties of longitude coordinates
waypoint coordinates (deg & min) from aircraft location with 0" added

OK

Plan-G / Re: Flight Plan Course line
November 28, 2009, 04:43:43 AM
Regarding the flight plan not being visible and/or dramatic excursions of plan data.

I noticed that often when the route is not visible, it would be restored to view if I adjusted the application window size just a little - but since I was also battling the other (waypoint excursions) issue at the same time there may be two different reasons for no display.

I had a flight plan (actually two of them) created in FSX then edited by hand to get more accurate waypoints using aircraft position as I flew the route.

Both flightplans (if they would load at all - I had to terminate the Plan-G process several times) showed multiple excursions to the equator in place of the normal waypoints.

After reading the post about the negative values in the flight plan I rechecked my code (it was fine and displays normally in FSX). There were no negative values BUT I edited waypoints using only decimal minutes instead of the mm ss format that the FSX-created locations contained.  FSX was fine with this so I only thought of it while browsing here.

I reloaded both and RE-SAVED them with FSX (which restored the mm ss format and both plans load correctly now in Plan-G.

The plan load time for 37 waypoints was nearly 30 seconds - I was about to give up and terminate the process again when it popped into view correctly.

Lesson learned: RE-SAVE with FSX after hand editing. And be patient.

LOVE this addition... one of the best I've used since AFCAD. A "must have"

Thanks Tim!
