Plan-G / Re: Problems with MapQuest
October 20, 2016, 11:52:43 AM
Hi, Here is a strange problem,I use Plan-G VER.3.1.3.113 using OPEN CYCLE MAP without any problems, however my brother using the same version of PLAN-G cannot get a map (unadulterated by messages) from any of the 4 options although he could use OPEN CYCLE MAP before. Is this option no longer aivailable?

Plan-G / Subscription Maps?
September 01, 2015, 08:56:10 AM
Hi, I have downloaded and installed your latest Bete version of Plan-g and find it's working very well  with no problems found (in P3Dv2.5+) I have noticed in the 'options' page under 'Map Provider' there is a section under dealing with 'subscription maps', In an earlier version of Plan-G, 21.something the terrain maps were more detailed than they are now,I believe Google used to provide these detailed maps but no longer do. Do you know of any subscription maps that can be bought to use with P-G that would provide what Google did in the past?

Hi Tim, I tried going to Plan-G/files/fs connection, and then changing from Sim Connect(where it had always previously been) to FSUIPC  and now it's working well. I don't know why the previously would work with P3D and not FSX , but its all working now, T|hanks for your help.
#6
Hi Tim, Are you saying that my localhost port should something other than 0 ? What I don't understand is why my P3D Works (using VPilot) in both P3D and Fsx . Where the Plan-G files does the Port  number reside?
#7
Hi Tim, I am sending you another Plan-G log that I did this morning. When I am online with another person they can see my (red aircraft icon) when they have connected to PG3, I cannot see my yellow aircraft or their red one, I hope this helps. Plan-G appears to be fully functional when I am in P3D and online via Vpilot.....09:15:05.7

Hi, I have recently installed P3D and  version V3.1.1.94 .  Now I find FSX will not connect to Plan-G  Can anyone suggest a possible reason for this,is there a setting I may have missed. I do not have the twosims running at the same time.

Thanks to all who offered help with my recent map problem, this matter has now been fixed with the help of Barry McRae( GA group BFSG) The problem lay in the Locations folder, it was an error in the FSX Scenery.cfg:
now corrected and all working fine.

Hi Tim ,I have made sure Plan-G 3  is allowable through my fireway and it does not appear to have made any difference. Do you know why it seems that I cannot take a screenshot using Fraps,it works for FSX.

Hi, I use FRAPS for screenshots, but for some reason it won't make a shot of my Plan-G 3 screen, is there any reason for that?

Please add to my previous message ,I also get a dark blue gridded screen with an error message in red..... Exception: No data in local tile cache   and in the  centre of each square in a lighter blue than the backround......   We are sorry but we dont have imagery at this zoom  level  for this region  (zoom 9 area Norway)  I hope this additional information will help with this problem.
