Thank you.  Stupid man, me that is, although I'm not sure how that box became "unticked". It must have happened while I was trying to set up network working, which I did but found that the panel builder I bought stops it displaying correctly so I've reverted to Plan G being on the same machine as FSX.

I connect OK via simconnect, my flight plan loads and other aircraft show up in red but for some reason my own aircraft does not display. It has worked previously.

I'm using a local host with windows 8.1 and the latest version of Plan G. I've also tried connecting via FSUIPC to no affect.Has anyone any idea what  I might have done because I can't think of anything.

I've copied the files as suggested but I'm not sure what I should be doing now as the info from FSX is still not being displayed on the map and clicking the build database option doesn't see to want to allow me to look in the Plan G data file folder.

Plan-G / Plan G on home network

First things first, this is a marvelous bit of software.

I'm new to flight simming and by definition Plan-G but I love how easy it is to use.  After running it for some time successfully on the same machine as FSX I decided to try it on a spare laptop that I had stashed away which is running XP.  I was careful to download Version 3 and I managed to connect to the FSX folder data on the host.  All seemed to be working.  The "build FSX database" function scans  the correct folders  and shows progress through the scenery folders/files but then the feature seems to stay on"Preparing database for new data".  The progress bar indicates that processing is happening but even after several hours the progress bar still streams across and the egg timer icon continues to be displayed.

I hope someone can help.
