Plan-G / Re: Plan-G behaving weird
December 16, 2015, 08:56:56 PM
So, I have tried all the things that has been suggested.
Plan G keeps on not showing all airports, and yes, I have used the right zoom and all airports are ticked on the map page.
I´m not a Plan-G expert, but I have used the program a lot, so I´m not a newbie either.

In some regions like France, its pretty bad with only 50% of the airports/airfields showing up. I deleted the config file and I did make a data base rebuild making sure all scenery was ticked. It aplies for both FSX-SE and P3Dv2.5

Finally, I did get the hint about the readme. To this i will only say that I have read the manual when i installed the program and I did have a look before posting here. I didnt find the line that was posted above this post. Maybe I´m to stupid. On the other hand, I dont understand why using these hints ???

Thanks for the answer

Could you specify where i can find that config file?
If I look in the Plan-G folder, the only one i can find is called Plan-G3.exe.config and if i delete that, Plan-G wont start.

Plan-G / Plan-G behaving weird
December 08, 2015, 07:54:37 PM
My Plan-G has startes behaving strange.

*) Sometimes it wont display all airports. I just installed a new airport which wasnt in the FSX database and ran the 'build navigation base'. The airport showed up, but others had disappeared.

*) Sometimes Plan-G doesnt show airport information like ILS etc.

*) Sometimes it wont connect, or it will connect to FSX data while using P3D and visa versa.

I have tried an uninstall and a new install, but that didnt change anything. Is there some file that is not deleted when uninstalling.

I´m using Win7 64bit, FSX-SE, P3Dv2, correct fsuipc.

Help will be appreciated because Plan-G has become part of my daily routine.  ;)

My fault
I was connected through simconnect and not via fsuipc.
Everything works now.

Its a single pc.
I will try to find out how to attach a log and what it means. I will come back when ready.

Plan-G / FSX connection problem (different problem)
June 04, 2015, 02:04:52 PM
First of all, i have had Plan-G running with both FSX and P3Dv2.4 for a long time and i use it a lot.

Yesterday, I noticed that I had no moving map in FSX, but I had groundspeed.
I then reinstalled Fsuipc (full) and Plan-G. I have run the database for both FSX and P3D.

P3D works like before, but FSX doesnt. Now I dont even get ground speed. When I try to connect, I get this ding-dong sound that makes me think that it says no way dude am i going to connect you.
I dont know how to continue. Most probably i have done something wrong. Maybe even before the problem started, but I dont know what.
Any help will be appreciated

Oh yes, of course, now I remember what I did the last time. ( simply copy data folder instaead of copying scenery.cfg/exe and build database)  Thanks for pushing my confused brain on track.

Hi.
I´m trying to build the P3D scenery database in a Plan-G install that i have on a second PC and which doesnt have a FS installed.(not network) I have done that before without problems, but maybe I´m doing something wrong this time. (brain memory fuzz)
I have made a folder with a copy of P3D exe and the active scenery cfg (the one hidden in programdata/lockhead Martin/etc)
I search for the folder and Plan-G starts preparing for the database, but it never finishes. I´ve tried twice now, both times leaving it for an hour or so, and nothing.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Thanks, I think I have all these things covered.
What i would like to do in the future, when I have fixed my network thing is to follow my flight on the laptop, as a second computer.
But just wait with this. I prefer to fix my network problem and I also prefer to use the program on the FS-pc for a while before going on with more possibilities.
For now I have LOTS of things to learn in order to enjoy the full potential of this very nice program. Ther´s no hurry.

Thanks for the reply Tim.
Now Plan-G is on the laptop. I still havent had the time to figure out why I lost network.
I will concentrate on the program a bit and then later on try to make the laptop run parallel to the FS-PC which is my goal.

Btw. Thanks for making a tutorial. Thats what makes a complex program like this one a good one. There´s nothing like doing things compared to only reading things.

IMHO, the manual still needs a part that explains how you need to setup your fs-pc AND your laptop in order to have it running parallel on the laptop. As it is now, its confusing and with information in various places. I´m not being negative here. I´m trying to being constructive.

Well, I tried to share the P3D folder on my network, but I must have done something wrong, because now I cant acces the flightsim computer and thats a problem.
So for now, untill I have fixed that, everything Plan-G related is on standby.

Hi, and sorry if you have been through this a million times.
I´m a new user of Plan-G. I have the newest version installed on my Flightsimpc, and I think everything works the way it should.
I would like to be able to use plan-G on my laptop, and thats where the problems come.
The flightsimPC (fspc) and the laptop are networked. Meaning that I can see the "normal" folders (user name) on each and so share files.

I have installed Plan-G on the laptop as well, but I cannot build navigation database. And thats where it all stops.

I have read the parts of the manual which is about connecting 2 pc and I´ve read what I needed to know in order to set up Plan-G on fspc in the first place.
I have searched the net, I have browsed this forum and in total used hours on this without finding a solution. Yesterday I went to bed with a big headache and frustration and thats not very nice.
Is there some kind of step by step thing. I find the manual to be confusing, and I´m not sure what I need to do. I have a feeling that even though my 2 pc are connected, its not enough and I need to be able to see files and programs, but I have no idea what to do and I´ve ended in the blind after reading to much confusing internet stuff.

My english is very good, but it is my 3rd language and my computeres dont use english windows7. They use Spanish, which is my 2nd language.
