Plan-G / Re: how to display Terrain in PlanG?

I have been flying in that same area.  For me the best included map source for that area is the OpenCycleMap   It shows what you have in the second picture

Plan-G / Re: Highlighting Specific Airfields

In my opinion, one nice thing about having a feature like that is that you could basically have a list of favorite airports that are easily accessible.  Another feature I have thought about is to have a way to set the runway lengths in which plan-g demarks which size the runways are considered to be.  That way you could easily display only the runways that are suitable for the aircraft you are flying.  In particular I find the range of medium runways to be very broad.  Overall I love the program, so take these comments as merely things I would like to see  :)

Plan-G / Highlighting Specific Airfields
February 16, 2016, 10:10:06 PM
Is there a way to highlight specific airfields either through user waypoints or changing the color or background of the airfield icon.  What I am looking to do is to have a way in which to highlight within Plan-G any airfields that I have as payware airfields (orbx, etc) so that they standout from the standard airfields.  I tried creating a duplicate user waypoint on the same spot but the default airfield icons overlay on top of these icons.

Thanks,

Brett

I have really been enjoying using this product.  One thing I would like to do is have it log my flight and track without displaying my plane.  The reason is I would like to have the flight plan visible on the map and be able to use the map to find references, but also practice my VFR navigation skills without necessarily knowing where I am at.  I would then like to go back and look at how well or poor I did with regards to following my flight plan.  I have tried to have the log flight checked but have the plane not visible but when the flight is over and I go back and turn the plane back to visible my track of where I have been doesn't show.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Brett

Thanks Tim!

This did the trick and then I was able to use the manual to get the rest of the network interface setup.  Very nice product!!!

Plan-G / Support Post - Network

Hi,

I am having difficulty getting Plan-G to interact with my P3D installation over the network.  I just recently got my ASN to work along with Panel Builder.  I have been able to get ASN to work with both the server (P3D machine) being called as its network name BRETT-SIMULATOR and by the ip address 192.168.1.9 (the included files show the network name version)

I was also able to text Plan-G on the local P3D machine and it was able to build the data base and seems to work fine.

When I go to build the data base in the client (non-P3D machine) and select P3D and select the correct network path for P3D and hit "ok" it does something very fast then stops

Any help is appreciated...this program looks fantastic and I am looking forward to using it!  Thank you for your help :-)

The forum would allow me to upload my xml file so here is the text from it:
