Plan-G / Re: No Intersections or airways showing up.

Hi Tim--- sorry, my finger trouble. In the new download the intersection boxes had not been checked on the Map ribbon although the VOR/NDB appeared on the screen already checked. Obviously missed it! Not only do I need new fingers but new specs as well. Must be getting old.

Hi Tim-- just downloaded the 167 version and the same, no intersections. Have re downloaded and no difference. Not sure what has been changed in this update but when I have downloaded before have not had to turn off W. Defender. Has anything in this new version changed that? My finger trouble somewhere? Opening as admin as well.
All worked well in previous editions

Hi dempsey -- thanks for the response .  I also thought that the file pathways strange but as I had done nothing to the system since last time ,when I let it do its own thing and all seemed well,  it all worked , then I thought that it was in the right place. Silly me.
So, uninstalled and reinstalled and noted that it was trying to put things in the x86. Perhaps that was the problem and I wasn't particular enough making sure that it didn't go there ,despite Tim's warning on P.2 of the read-me !!!
Setting up new folder , in the place you suggested, and being most particular at every point,   it all has gone well , I have my data back.

Many thanks for the heads up--Bobbykins

Having had a successful flight the other night I went to fly this pm . Plan g loaded on the screen without any data (no airspace ,VORs etc.). I then thought that rebuilding the data base might solve it but after the "building airways bit I got a message----
database failed to build Underlying Provider failed to open-see log for more details. Tried once more thinking that it might be finger trouble on my part. Same result
Now ,this is my first venture into this territory but opening the vast jumble (to me) of words  I came upon this line in what I think is the log file to which they refer.
System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlException: the path is not valid . Check the directory for the database.(Path=c:\Documents\Plan-g Files\Data\PlanG3_P3D.sdf).
So what, I am afraid to say.
I have looked at other posts relating to the Data base failing to build and note their comments on the SqlServer but they seem to get a different exception notice. Or is it the same problem expressed differently that will be incorporated in your next build?
Perhaps this will help in advising on the problem as this is beyond me . But I am willing to try to learn.

Plan-G / Re: Plan G and Flight Planner in P3Dv4.1
February 23, 2018, 08:15:20 PM
Hi Tim --thanks for the prompt reply and with your input I simply moved an existing PLN folder from the Plan G folder  to the correct one. I also made sure that the path was set properly in the Export box. Went to the Flight Planner, I can see the available flights "on the board", click on the one I want and it loads in the flight planner and GPS, all the connections are made between P3D and the Plan G and away we go. I have now produced several plans as further trials and all seems to work as it did before in FSX.
But, for some reason, if I try to locate the flight using the browse button and scroll down the window that is presented, it does not appear in any of the folders .
Never mind for the mo. as it is working  and I will ponder more, unless you have any other suggestions.
Now ,all I need to get working properly (without Spadnext! ) is the radio panels, (I am in dialogue with Logitech) but I am not totally lost as your pop up panels to tune the radios have worked really well for me in the past and it seems that they will be getting a lot more use in the near future.
Many thanks.

Plan-G / Re: Unable print Flight Plan
February 22, 2018, 05:43:24 PM
Hi all --I also had this problem when I was running Plan G with FSX in W 7. A great programme. Do not know if the following will help solve the problem but----
I could print the Map from the toolbar but not the plan. It was if there was no connection to the printer.  However, if I went to the File page ,highlighted the flight that I wanted to print (already having done the Map from the icon tool bar), go down and select Print, the grey Print flight plan box will appear. Click this and the flight plan appears in the preview window. Press the print icon on top left of preview image  and the Flight plan will print OK.
This is also what is happening in my current P3dV4 set up but  lived with it for a couple of years with FSX, so no sweat in P3D.
My problem at present , (See my post ) is that I cannot get  the Flight planner to load the Plan G flight so I can load it into the default GPS in the Comanche. I  still use Plan G for the flight as it all latches and performs well in all other respects with this platform.
Because I am new to P3D and W 10, I do not know if it is finger trouble at my end or something is happening in P3D v4.1 ( where the Plan G PLN file does appear) causing the file to go AWOL from the correct file .
Any way, hope my work around  may help you and I will await any response from this forum as L M have advised that I contact Plan G.

Plan-G / Plan G and Flight Planner in P3Dv4.1
February 21, 2018, 04:34:42 PM
Hi all -now migrating to P3Dv4.1 and W10 from FSX after several years and all is good.
However , having created a flight plan in Plan G it saves as a PLG into the C\Docs \Plan G files, not the P3Dv4 files. When I click "export" in Plan G the flight plan appears as a PLN file in the same files but , again, not in the P3Dv4 files
Activating the flight planner and clicking load (the flight plan exported from Plan G) I see that in the "available flight Plans" box the Browse advisory directory is ---- C\users\name\DocumentsPrepar3Dv4\ files.
But when I look into this file to select it there are no Plan G flight plans in there.
In fact, using the browser button in the flight planner does not reveal any flight plans anywhere!!
So, have the Plan G files been stored correctly or should they have gone into the Docs\P3Dv4 files? If not how can I redirect them to the P3Dv4 files?
If they are stored in the correct Docs\Plan G files then how do I change the directory advice in the flight planner "Available Flight Plans " box.
Now I could use the Plan G flight plan on its own for flights but I would like to get using the default GPS unit but this will not work without a flight plan being loaded.
Am I missing something here? Is it a Plan G issue?
Help would be appreciated
