There's no automatic notice, but news of any update is posted on the homepage at www.tasoftware.co.uk and here as a sticky in the forum.

At the moment Tim passes a succession of beta updates through the beta testers, before issuing a public stable update.  The schedule is ad hoc

You can get a RSS feed from this board by clicking on the RSS link at the bottom of the page.

Plan-G / Re: A comment - not a complaint

I don't get a screen corruption, but Plan-G slows down significantly if I'm running a lot of stuff.  I use it when providing online ATC so I'm running VRC (the VATSIM radar client), ServInfo, ATCA, and TeamSpeak.  What I lose is the speed of redrawing when moving around quickly - as a virtual controller on London Information, I may be switching from one end of the country to the other as a new pilot calls in.

Maybe Tim could program the conversion into Plan-G?

There's a nice little conversion facility at http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/bickel/DDDMMSS-decimal.html

The core calculation in the source code is:

QuotedecimalLatitude = Math.round(absdlat + (absmlat/60.) + (absslat/3600.) )
     decimalLongitutde = Math.round(absdlon + (absmlon/60) + (absslon/3600) )

where the deg, min and seconds have been entered separately e.g. absdlat is the absolute value of the degree component of the latitude

Plan-G / Re: MS dial home crash with Plan-G 0.8.0

I'd also add that many less techy users won't have the foggiest idea what DotNet 3.5 SP1 is, let alone whether they've got it installed.  I found out that I'd got it by looking in the "add/remove programs facility" - maybe something for a FAQ in the user manual?

Tim, is there any way Plan-G could detect which version of .net the user has?

Plan-G / Re: Trail Analysis

I've just discovered what the problems was thanks.  I'd got the dreaded "second monitor on the left" problem, and when that happens then the menu that should appear when clicking on the logo in the top left corner doesn't appear, so i oculnd't find the options.

I've now moved PlanG back to the right hand monitor and it all works fine.  (I'm not planning to change my monitor set-up as it's all organised very ergonomically)
