Plan-G / Re: update and simconnect
January 31, 2019, 01:55:24 PM
I am running fsx-se on my desktop (not networked with another computer) and Plan G on the same machine.
In my first post I gave the path of the flightsim.
PLan G is in: c:\program files (x86)\plan G.
So everything as common as possible and still the simconnect does not work.
Mind that I have several other programs that do work with simconnect (so that configuration should be ok).
All help is welcome.

Plan-G / update and simconnect
January 29, 2019, 04:00:16 PM
I updated to the last version today.
For years I have been connecting my sim (nowadays FSX-SE) via FSUIPC; but lately the connection is not so stable anymore.
So I would like to connect via simconnect, but I have no succes.
How should I proceed?
I have Windows 7 Ultimate and my steam version path is: f:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX.
Right now under SimConnect Settings (FSX) the boxes say: IPv4, FSX Computer: localhost, Server Port/Pipe: 0
Thanks for a simple and detailed advice.

Plan-G / wind data
March 25, 2018, 09:17:45 PM
Hello
When flying with plan G, I can see in the top left corner a black square with the wind data. Are these data about the surface wind or the wind at the altitude I am flying?
Thnx.

Did a reinstall and then update worked.
I now see some airports as white circles and others as yellow circles.
Any reason?
Cheers

Plan-G / Re: Plan G does not open anymore

I reinstalled the program on top of the existing one and everything seems to be working again now. Does it make any sense trying to find out why...? Probably not.

The strange thing is that I do not see anything wrong in the log file... So what can it be?

Plan-G / Plan G does not open anymore
August 11, 2017, 10:33:38 AM
When I open Plan G (latest version), the little opening screen pops up, disappears and when normally the map should show up, nothing happens. Until last night everything worked fine. I did not do anythng special with my PC, just shut off. Any idea what to do...?
Thanks.

Plan-G / Italian VRP csv
August 09, 2017, 11:59:54 AM
Does anyone know where to get a csv file with the most recent version of the VRP points of Italy? And preferably with a syntax as close as possible to the ones Tim has put standard in his program?
Thanks.

Plan-G / Plan G not working anymore
June 30, 2017, 11:39:54 PM
I am using Plan G for years now.
Today I uninstalled P3D version 3.4 + added some user points.
Now all of a sudden Plan G 3.1.4 does not work anymore.
I did a reinstall, but that does not help.
This is the message I get.
Pls help. (Where do I find the log file, to help you?)

Plan-G / Re: Problems with MapQuest
July 16, 2016, 11:52:51 PM
In the 2.05 version of VFRFlight 5 out of 7 maps come from data from openAIP.net, in different variations of which opencyclemap is the best. Then there are still the basic Thunderforest available + the now disappeared MapQuest. Interesting in the Opencyclemap here (data from openstreetmaps) is that at a high zoom level you get a drawing of the seaplane landingstrips. Very practical if you are doing a lot of waterlandings like in i.e. Alaska.
Cheers.

Hi Tim
You asked for free tile servers. How about the Thunderstorm Outdoormaps. As far as I can see, they look very suited for VFR flying. And they are coming from the same house as the opencyclemap; so they are free up to 150000 tiles per month. It should not be too difficult to get them in plan G?
Cheers.

Indeed, we can switch to OpenStreetMap or OpenCycleMap; the first shows us the streets, the second the terrain. But for VFR flying with a moving map, it is very convenient to have a combination of both, like with Mapquest OSM. Anyone knows whether or how such a combination can be created?
