Many agree with that view as well.

Plan-G / Re: Click and drag flightplan editing
September 30, 2012, 05:43:10 PM
Just wondering, after reading these posts about the missing "Edit" functionality and other limitations in the newest version,
instead of trying to configure V3 to act like V2, why not just stay with V2.  Did V2 have limitations that V3 addresses? Does V3
offer some remarkable improvement to you at any level?

Version 2 works well for me when I choose to use it.  Version 3...not so well, since I liked the features and information pane in
V2 rather than the pop-up windows of V3.  I tried to resize the map window and drag the information and plan pop-ups to the
right side panel, which worked okay to replicate V2. But then there I was trying to remold V3 to look and act like V2.  I went
completely back to V2, which is well written and very functional.

I believe if I was a new simmer and had only seen V3, I likely would have been happy. But having used V2, I find V3 just does
not meet my desires.

Plan-G / Re: V2.0.5 crashes when searching for Airport

I got it fixed. I might have posted this request for support in the wrong place, seeing I got NO replys.
If so, I apologize.

Guess I'll just have to reply to my own post.

I uninstalled V2 with Revo Uninstaller. Did a clean reinstall running installer as Adminstrator.
Still crashes when Find Airport is selected.

I get this error message:

Plan-G / V2.0.5 crashes when searching for Airport
September 24, 2012, 10:43:51 PM
I quickly tired of Version 3.  I see zero improvement, just different.  Miss the Edit Route function, hate the individual windows that
must to be opened seperately to see the flight Plan, Airport Information, etc.   Loss of the terrain map is the real kicker for me.
Newer versions of stuff is not necessarily better.  I am removing V3 and going back to V2.0.5.  I know the author worked hard but
for my use, nothing improved AT ALL.

When I click FIND VOR, or Find Intersection, all is good.   But if I Click Find Airport and the program crashes immediately.  I reinstalled
(not a clean reinstall) but no improvement.  I run it on Windows 7 64 bit machine.

Plan-G / Re: Net Framework 4 error at PlanG v3 startup

Just my 2 cents since I had similar issues... Hope this helps!

And a good 2 Cents spent.  The standalone Net4 Client installer seemed to fix the problem. The 32 and 64 bit SQL stuff were already installed.
I am now running the database thingy now.

Thanks for everyone's prompt and helpful responses.

That's the same as this PC here. Can you still run v2? The requirements are exactly the same.

Thanks, Tim, for response. Yes, I am able to run 2.0.5. I just checked again prior to posting this.

Plan-G / Net Framework 4 error at PlanG v3 startup
August 16, 2012, 02:21:21 AM
Ran PlanG setup as Admin. Ran application exe as Admin. Each time, error message tells me I need Net 4.

I already had Net4 installed, but I uninstalled Net4. Ran three different registery cleaners. Rebooted and installed Net4 again.  Same error.

OS is Window 7 Home Premium, SP1. Asus Laptop, G74SX.  I installed PlanG v3 into the Program Files (x86) folder, but NOT on the C drive.

Edit:
I ran .Net VersionCheck: http://www.raymond.cc/blog/check-net-version-installed-on-computer/
It reported the following:
