Plan-G / Trackline dissappeared
March 14, 2020, 03:24:51 AM
Last night I created and saved a dep/destination route- as a .pln. Clicked on it today but it would not show the route. Clicked on edit and all the points were there, route info was listed, just no route showing. The plan was also listed in my GPS display, no route showing, plane would not follow track either.
Any ideas?

Cheers,
KenA

Default so far as I know. I do not have any 3rd party scenery loaded for that area.
Here's the airports coordinates as shown from the "Great Circle Mapper"
Type: Airport (Part 139 Class I)
Use: Public/Civil
Latitude: 37°02'11"N (37.036389)
Longitude: 113°30'37"W (-113.510305)
Datum: WGS 1984
Elevation: 2883 ft (879 m)

Here's the coordinates of the ILS.DME.
37.0249
-113.51666

Here are the coordinates of KSGU as displayed on Plan-G.
37.08969
-113.59314

Plan-G / Airport ICON at wrong location
January 12, 2017, 06:39:34 PM
KSGU Saint George Utah. The ILS/DME ribbon is in the correct location but the Airport, on Plan-G is at the VOR location When you create a flight plan the KSGU start point will be the VOR positon, not the airport, but if you move your plane to KSGU it will be at the point of the ILS/DME ribbon - or whatever you call it. The real airport is on a bearing of 122 @ 5.2nm fro the VOR.

Have you tried it in 3.1?

DL'ed 3.1.0.79 set it up and worked it over. Appears that ICAO's are not dropping when changing range scales.

Upward and onward.
Say, while I have your attention, one of the guys asked if the "Edit" (routes/track lines) function can be brought back?

If this is just on startup, it's a known issue, with the workaround described in the readme.
No it's sporadic and happens when I re scale say from 10 to 20 miles.
Here's another. Saturday I set up a flight out of KSFF Felts Field outside of Spokane Washington. I had the "connect" enabled and my plane appeared in the correct place but no ICON on plan-g. The others of that area were showing up just fine.
This morning, just now, I moved to KSFF and the ICON was there. Also the ICON's appear to be showing up just fine.
I use the scroll wheel most time to move my map scale.

I have the same problem. Found if I clear the Large, Medium, and Small check boxes they we reappear. They seem to disappear whenever I change the zoom scale.

Flight Planning / Track line editing
December 17, 2013, 02:28:16 AM
Forgive me if I missed something here but how do I edit the trackline in V3. I used to be able to activate the "Edit" then drag the trackline around to create a WP. I'm not seeing this in V3. Is there something I need to activate or does my brain need to be rebooted to see the obvious.

Plan-G / Distance and bearing ruler
October 20, 2009, 06:27:49 PM
Tim, forgive me it this has already been brought up and all.
It would really be nice to toggle on/off a distance and bearing type ruler. An example would be the one they use in Google Earth.

OK, I have one more question.
When Plan-G conducts it's search is it looking at all the BGL's in the Addon/scenery or just those in the FSX /scenery folder?

Yes!

When you FIRST RUN Plan-G, it asks you to build its database from the FSX location. Go to the Data tab and click on the Build FSX Database icon!

Plan-G / Airport Database
October 16, 2009, 11:49:13 PM
Forgive me if this is already available.
Is there any way to load the FSX Airport database into Plan -G? Another planner has a database manager that allows you to rebuild their airport list from  FSX.

Thank you Tim for such an outstanding program. I cannot tell you how many hours Plan-G has saved me in the development of routes. Cam' It's like a good book; hard to put down.

Plan-G / Re: System crash

The simplest way to find out what caused your crash is to look at the Windows System and/or Application logs. These should record the crash and what program/driver/etc caused it. You can get to the system logs by running Administrative Tools\Event Viewer.

Interesting. Wish I was more savvy on this systems business. From what I read most of the "error" reports were a Firefox issue (Using that program for my interrnt service.
Here;s a copy of one event - below. I have no idea of what it's saying other than the crash.
Figure the crash I went through was an operator error and nothing to do with Plan-G, which I fired up again, offline from FSX and working just fine. Will go on line with it later today.
Thank you for your response.
