Plan-G / Airport Info
December 12, 2013, 08:05:35 PM
What do I have to hover over to  get all the airport info so I can lock it in the information panel?  All I can get is the runway info that Im on.  I've tried hovering over the airport icon (the plane), nothing.

Will Plan-G work on Win 8?  I just installed that on my laptop which I use for PG over a network.  Anybody try it?

Case Solved!

All I did was install 3.1.50 from the .46 on the FSX PC, which is the same as the networked laptop.  I didn't have a Simconnect.xml on the FSX machine so I installed that.  Now it works like a charm.  I can now think of naked ladies at night instead of FSX;)

Thanks Tim,

I had to recently rebuild my hard drive.  rebuilding FSX and all the addons has been time consuming, six months so far.  Anyways, I upgraded to Win7 64bits from Vista32 bits.  The last Plan G that I had was v2  and it worked great.  The last version, v3.50 is keeping me up at night.
I thought that FSX Deluxe installed Simconnect .xml.  It never was problem before.  Apparently it didn't, so I installed it on my own.  I still can't connect to my FSX PC.  The FSX PC is running Win7 64 it has all the updates.   FSX has sp1& sp2.  THe laptop is a Vista 32bit.  I copied and pasted from you Manuel the entry for Simconnect.xml.  I made sure I had the same parameters for FS connections on the client Plan G.  When I select "connect", I get an error message and PlanG shuts down.  I run Plan G with administrative rights.
Ive read all the posts concerning network connections and have tried the suggestions listed, no joy.  I'm sure its the one  "thing" that I'm missing, but what is it?
Thank you for you time and program,

Papagiorgio

As I was writing this,  I was also reading some of the other posts which mentioned to right click and "run as administrator"  which I did and that FIXED my problems.

Thanks,  Papagiorgio

Plan-G / Cannot Access Home and Map
November 27, 2010, 08:21:38 PM
Installed 2.0 and built database for FSX as instructed.  It shows it is writing but after it's done, the green first tab is still there.  I cannot access the map and the home tabs.  I have checked my location settings and connection settings and they must have copied correctly from my previous Plan G.  I renamed my old Plan G, "old plan g"
I am running Plan G v 2.0 on a networked pc using IPv4 simconnect. The simconnect on the FSX pc has the same protocals as the Plan G machine.

I am using Vista Home premium 32bits with UAC off

Thanks, Papagiorgio

Plan-G / PlanG freezes on networked pc+other
November 02, 2010, 07:25:03 PM
Hi,

I have the lastest version Plan G running on on Vista Home premium 32bit. It is running on a networked laptop with the same platform except 64 bit. IT has been fine for a good lenght of time till recently, it just freezes.  Maybe freeze is not the right word.  Plan G doesn't freeze just the trackin of the ac.  The next waypoint distance just stays the same.  The only way to rectify it is to disconnect the network connecion on PlanG and then connect again.  Then I have to reload the flight plan again.

The other problem I have once in a great while is that the It will not connect to the pc that is running FSX.  I check the simconnect on the FSX machine and the settings match the connection options on the PlanG machine.  The only way that I can get it to connect again is that I have to reboot the FSX pc.  I am using Ipv4

Any ideas Tim?

One more thing would be nice on your next update,  arcs on the flight plan that will show were your expected altitude will be reached based on your speed and vertical speed.

Thanks Tim,

Plan-G / Altitude reach
February 27, 2010, 02:49:49 PM
This is just a wish list for any future updates.
To have an altitude arc on the map to show where to expect your ac to reach it's altitude based on the setting of the MCP.  Just like the display on some ND's.
Other than that I have no issues with Plan G. I am going to go out on the limb with this, but I would say that this program has influenced FSX as much as Pete Dowson's FSUIPC.

Thanks,

George
