Plan-G / Introducing Myself and Tip for Plan-G (FS9)
August 05, 2017, 03:57:49 PM
Hi Good morning Pilots!

I am mainly a IFR pilot with little VFR esperience in FS2004. I member of http://www.swavirtual.com/wn/

I today have downloaded PlanG XP for the second time. First time was about a year or two ago. I couldn't get it to complete building the database. Today was different. For some unknown reason in which I am not complaining. Install it like this: C:\Microsoft Games\Plan-G v3.1.2-WinXP\

This helped a lot and took it estimated 15-20 minutes to complete. This trick might work for Windows 7-10 but I am unable to confirm this.

Open Cycle Map still works.

I do not see anything in the Plan-G manual about SID/STAR procedures. Not even AIRAC cycles.

FS9/FSX should not be considered "frozen in time" because this site updates bgl files with Airport navaids(INCLUDES ILS!).. They keep the default in but only adding updated per current AIRAC Cycle. So when you build PLAN-G database from FS9/FSX you get brand new data. See http://www.aero.sors.fr/

The site also has intersections files for FS9/FSX/P3D. Intersections are not updated via Scenery/World/Scenery bgl files but using the ADD-ON Scenery folder and creating ie "ADD-ON SCENERY\Intersections\scenery". Placing the individual bgl files into the said folder then adding it to the sim then reloading the sim will work and Plan-G will read them. Nearly doubles the time to read because like I said, The new data is added nothing removed to keep the sims from crashing.

That's all I have thanks for reading. 8)
