EDIT - I removed an odd space at the start of the first line. I was then able to run the database build successfully.

I am also getting an error building the database for XP11. Failed to build database (index outside the bounds of the array). The build continues to process until the error dialog is closed.

I do run most of my apps in admin mode which tends to be the default requirement. I have just completed a flight with full Plan-G tracking.
#4
I removed all other plugin to test for any conflicts. Plan-G still failed to connect.

I then carried out a uninstall/reinstall and Plan-G 3.2.2.167 connected to XP11 with the positive multi tone audio tone. Although Plan-G is installed in the /program files folder, I found that I had to explicitly run the program 'as an Administrator' for the correction to work. I failed to connect if I did not.

Thank you for your assistance.

That's not good. Can you tell me what versions of XPUIPC and XP11 you use for testing? What data is required by Plan-G to read XP11 position data?

If the FS connection fails, as in this case, should Plan-G not show that it is connected?
#6
As mentioned I am running XP11 and PlanG on a single PC. No network client should be needed.
#7
I ran a further test at 0842. With XP11.50 running I clicked Connect and got a double bong with Disconnect highlighted. I disconnected and then reconnected.

The first connection is logged as a FSUIPC Error #12 (FSUIPC_ERR_SENDMSG). The second connection reports that a connection already exists (FSUIPC_ERR_OPEN).
#8
My apologies. I did search for a PlanG log. See attached.
#9
XP11 log.txt attached as requested.

PlanG FS Connection http://prntscr.com/t95gv9

PlanG Home Screen showing Connected http://prntscr.com/t95hxn

XPUIPC plugin is enabled in XP11 and XPUIPC set as the FS link.

I am running PlanG3 (3.2.2) on a single PC with XP11.50 and XPUIPC 2.0.5.9. When I click on Connect I get the audio sound and it highlights Disconnect. However, I do not get a yellow aircraft symbol and PlanG fails to trace the route flown. The Lock/Sync/Free remain greyed out.

No data appears to be transmitted from XP11.50 to PlanG. Any suggestions?

PS. PlanG works fine with P3Dv4.5 and v5.

Plan-G / Re: Plan G Observations

Hi Tim

I am aware of the 2 colours and their sources. The red TCAS/AI symbols remains at the last position when the other users disconnect from VATSIM and their TCAS is lost. You see this particularly at the local airfield. The red symbols then remain on screen until you disconnect your Flt Sim Plan G. The last VATSIM position blue symbol also remains on screen under the same conditions. They do not time out.

Plan-G / Re: Plan G Observations

Thank you Tim for your response to my questions. I have achieved a couple but need to investigate the others.

The other aircraft red/blue aircraft symbol are no disappearing after the refresh period when the other user disconnects from VATSIM. It can leave the last position marked until I log out.

I also found Plan G freezing/extreme go slow when I changed in Options to SimConnect P3D to match my P3Dv4.1 sim. I had to revert to the previous setting of SimConnect FSX to regain use of Plan G. PLEASE IGNORE - fixed post read. Note there is a typo "1.Create a Simconnext.xml file " (x to c needed)

Plan-G / Plan G Observations
January 28, 2018, 06:48:56 PM
I have recently been introduced to Plan G. It is a fantastic resource when flying VFR in VATSIM. There are a few things I have observed and not been able to find an answer to:

  • Missing ATZ and MATZ zones on the map for the UK. Most other airspace classifications are displayed but these Airfield and Military traffic Zones for smaller airfields are missing.
  • When a user disconnects their red and blue aircraft symbol remains at the last location even if the user reconnects. These symbols should time out.
  • There appears no means of saving your plotted flight which disappears when you disconnect.
  • When using multiple displays (I use 3), the various sub windows (eg. traffic, vatsim, plan) can appear off the visible screens with no way of pulling them back the main window screen.
