Plan-G / Re: crash on connect
March 04, 2011, 03:00:51 AM
Hi,

I managed to get plan-g working using simconnect. It did not work with fsuipc.

The only prob I have now is that some times I get a popup "A script on this page is cause Internet explorer to run slowly. If this continues to happen your computer might become unresponsive" .

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I installed files necessary  for the terrain elevation profile, rebooted and now  plan-g is telling me I need to check my fsx is running and protocol settings are correct.  I did check, all is good but  I must be missing something ?

Could you post the Plan-G log please?

Sure.I'm using  fsuipc/widefs so I did not even configure simconnect.

Hmm. Then we're back to permissions. Assuming the scripts have installed correctly. In your Plan-G folder you should have a JavaScript folder containing 9 .js files. If the scripts are present, the only possible cause of a DISP_E_UNKNOWNNAME error is that Plan-G is prevented from running the script. This has been the case in 100% of all instances. Now the 'usual suspects' are firewall, antivirus, IE security, login rights. Which is not to say there couldn't be something else. But something on your PC is blocking it, I'm 100% sure of that.

Now why 0.9 should be unaffected, I really don't know. The code that calls the scripts, indeed much of the basic code is exactly the same...

Correct there is a javascript folder with  9 *.js files in it. What is blocking the scripts tho I have no clue.

I got rid of internet exploder.

Well that, I think is the problem. Plan-G needs Internet Explorer to be installed, since it uses the IE libraries.

The older plang version worked just fine tho..without ie...

That log doesn't show any errors. Did it still crash? If so what was the error?

How about security within Internet Explorer? What is your security setting there? Do you have scripting enabled etc? Also, what version of Internet Explorer do you have installed?

Finally, what happens if you go back to 476? Now that you have built the database, does it still crash in the same place?

Yes a mighty crash it was.Same error as before.I got rid of internet exploder. The database wasn't completely built that i know of.

Sorry i don't know how to remove old stuff. I'll just post the log I have and then delete it so that if you want me to post another log you won't have to go through old junk.

This one starts up fine but then crashes right away when I hit data fsx data and after a few mins scanning when I hit data  fsx only.
