Cockpit Chatter / Plan-G on an IPAD (sort of)
November 29, 2010, 07:37:44 PM
In case any IPAD owner feel like using it to display Plan-G while flying in their main FSX computer here there is a little how-to:

1. Fire up FSX in you big bad powerful PC
2. Fire up Plan G in a not so wonderful machine (i. e. a laptop)
3. Connect Plan G to FSX. Easy as pie following the clear and concise instructions in page 88 and 89 of the manual.
4. Fire up TeamViewer or some other remote control app in your IPAD. These kind of apps allow the user to see the computer display in the IPAD.
5. Connect the IPAD to the laptop and enjoy Plan-G in all of its 9.7" glory  :)

And that's it. Technically Plan-G is not running in the IPAD but on the middle machine (laptop) but as you can see and interact with it through the IPAD it is, to all practical purposes, as if it were running there.

There's no need to jailbreak the IPAD for this to work and there shouldn't be any special requirements regarding IOS version either.

Best regards,

Juan Andres
