Copied into the right directory, but one of the databases had not copied over. Done it now & all is fine. Thanks for the help....you made me check the directories again  ;)

Plan-G / New Laptop
January 31, 2018, 04:40:07 PM
Hi Tim,
I have just bought a new laptop - W10 - & have installed the latest version of P-G on said laptop. I have copied over the databases from my FSX and XP11 installations, but they are not showing on the laptop P-G. The laptop P-G is still asking for me to build the database. Is this right or is there something else I need to do after copying the two databases over?

Plan-G / Re: X-Plane 11 database failed to build
December 21, 2017, 03:35:56 PM
I managed to get around this problem by doing the following:
I reinstalled Plan-G v314.129 on my flying machine, then built the XP11.10 database. I then reinstalled Plan-G v320.144 on my flying machine. The database was showing all the updated airfields in XP11. I then copied the XP11.10 database over to my secondary PC so now I have the updated XP data on both machines. Not the best solution but it worked!  :D

* Reboot your PC
* Delete the Plan-G Files\Data\PlanG3_XPX.sdf file before running Plan-G
* Are you running in Administrator mode?
* Is your ProgramData marked as hidden? (one user reported the problem went away after unhiding)
* Did you recently do a system update? If so, one of the DotNet libraries may not have

Rebooted PC.
Running in Administrator Mode
ProgramData - the directory shows in Windows Explorer, as do the files therein.
Not recently done a system update.

Ran Plan-G to build the database & I get the same result - PG in a loop in the apt.dat bit.
Have you any more suggestions, Tim?

Doh! The log file is too large so have truncated it to fit. Hope this helps.

Plan-G / X-Plane 11 database failed to build (merged)
December 09, 2017, 07:48:48 PM
Hi Tim,
Having just updated my version of XP from 11.05 to 11.10 I then went to rebuild the database for XP11.10 only to find that the build failed at the apt.dat section. I tried several times, but the result was the same. I had no problems in XP11.05!
Full log file attached.

John

Plan-G / copy data fails
July 16, 2017, 10:29:36 AM
Hi Tim,
Hope you are well & maybe we can meet up again at Cosford this year?
I have just installed the latest version (3.1.4.129_test) of P-G on my FSX PC & want to run P-G on a secondary PC. I have done this successfully in the past. However, now when I copy the FSX data on the FSX PC over to the data of the secondary PC, P-G wants me to build a database for FSX. For some reason, P-G is not reading the data that I have copied into it's data file. Any idea as to what I might have done wrong, or forgotten to do? Any help greatly appreciated.
Regards,
John L

January 02, 2015, 07:44:04 PM
Hi Tim,
The only cfg file I can find is the Plan-G3.exe.config file, but when I delete this, then Plan G will not run. Is there another cfg file that I need to delete? If so, could you point me in the right direction please? Cheers.

Plan-G / Aerodrome chart not displaying
January 01, 2015, 08:56:29 PM
I am using MS Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit. I have Plan-G v3.1.1.94 installed, not in Program Files but on the main drive 'C'. Running PG is fine but I have one problem; that problem is that when in the map view, I right click on an airport icon but the airport does not display, although the view aerodrome icon' is highlighted. Any ideas as to what is going wrong?
Log attached.
#13
That was it Tim, thanks. So how & why does that happen?
#14
For some unknown reason my Plan G will now not connect to FSX over the network. It connected fine the other day & I have done nothing to the connection parameters. Is this due to the vagaries of simconnect or is something else at work here. Attached is my PG log file and below is a copy of my simconnect file.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="SimConnect" version="1,0">

Hope you are able to throw some light on this situation Tim.
Cheers.

Got it sorted Tim, thanks. Changed the ip address to 192.168.0.10 and all is well now. Cheers.
