Last week I had a situation in which my password was leaked somewhere and I have been  checking stuff since. Well, today I visited the Have I Been Pwned site and it indicated my credentials were breached in at least 8 sites (actually less but nevertheless).

In searching through that I followed a link to a security Twitter account in which notifications are made when a DUMP of usernames/passwords have been done somewhere on the net, usually PasteBin sites.

Well, I checked mine and it listed two dumps, one did not exist anymore (they are usually deleted rather quickly) but in the other there was a whole database table dump with information as to whom to contact (I presume it is the person that breached the data and from where source information might be obtained). My email address was listed in that database dump!!! when I searched my vault I noticed that the username that was dumped there I had used on THIS SITE (Plan-G).

The database table dump is quite large (http://siph0n.in/exploits.php?id=4367) so if you see your email and/or username there then PLEASE CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD RIGHT AWAY!!! I was lead to that "dump" by the security site I mentioned above (https://haveibeenpwned.com/) where you can enter your email address and they check if you have been breached. I do not recall having used this username in any other site so I am ALMOST certain the database dump belongs to the membership database of this site, I might be mistaken BUT you lose nothing by taking preventive measures.

Now, I am changing my passwords, I hope you do too and I hope the owner of this forum checks his hosting for data breach. As I said, I have been checking my logins since I was alerted that my password (from another site) was leaked and ran into this one just by digging deeper into the extent of the leak.

Plan-G / Re: Database build skips some airports
December 05, 2010, 04:18:36 AM
I noticed it happens with add-on airports but not all add-ons, seems like at random. Yesterday for example I tried to get them showing by pointing to the c:\programdata\... folder and rebuilt FSX database but still got some of my add-ons missing (several).

Today I pointed it again to c:\programdata and rebuilt and voilá, my add-on airports where suddenly there this time. I haven't figured out why. They always show in FSC (Flight Sim Commander).

Background
When a flight plan is cleared (start anew) everything has to be cleared.

Steps to Reproduce
1. Create a flight plan as you normally would
2. For the arrival airport select an Instrument Approach (not all airports have it)
3. Select Add Approach to Flight Plan. It will be displayed on the map
4. Move around the map
5. Clear the flight plan using File | New Flight Plan

Expected Result
Flight plan and approach are cleared from the expander and the Instrument Approach visual shown on the map
should also disappear

Observed Result
Flight plan and Instrument Approach waypoints are cleared from the expanders on the right. The vectors and turns of the actual instrument approach still remain displayed on the map.

Plan-G / [Resolved]Database build skips some airports
December 04, 2010, 12:41:10 AM
Well I have it moved to C:\Applications\Flight Sim\Plan-G\  but it still skips some airport add-ons, sometimes this, sometimes that, not consistent in what it skips.

Plan-G / Re: Script stopped responding

Thanks! that resolved the issue, I don't get the annoying pop up anymore.

Tim, I think it would be a very good idea to put the gist of his post in the FAQ or Docs so that it doesn't keep on coming back at you, especially when it is really a problem with the IE engine.

Plan-G / Re: Map, Data and view buttons don't work
December 04, 2010, 12:25:51 AM
I don't have those problems and I don't run it as administrator. Since I don't like programs that don't require admin rights to demand it I did the following:

a) Installed Plan-G using the setup.exe into C:\Program Files...
b) Copied the C;\Program Files\TA Software\Plan G\ directory to another one C:\Applications\Flight Sim\Plan G\
c) Used the control panel to uninstall Plan G
d) Used the Plan G in c:\Applications to rebuild the databases, etc.

I don't need to run it as admin anymore, in fact I run it in a restricted account as it should. The only problem I have is that it silently skips some add-on airports at random no matter how many times I rebuild

Plan-G / Re: Toolbar menu items disappear

I have not confirmed yet but apparently this problem surfaces when one uses the Classic theme, probably the color choice of classic is not correct or get overriden causing the fg/bg to make the items appear invisible until you hover and get a different fg/bg combination.

Plan-G / Re: Approach Instruments...

I think it would be sufficient to just add the waypoints included in the approach just like a normal flight plan. Otherwise there is not much use for the approach (unless you run it on a 2nd monitor during flight) if your flight plan is left incomplete.

For now, I guess one has to just do the regular flight plan and use the Instrument Approach as a "nice to view". Since those waypoints are currently not added, you have to add them by hand.

Certainly not a lightweight PC:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bits
CPU: Intel i7 core 920 @ 2.67GHz
RAM: 4GB
Video: nVidia GeForce GTX285 1GB  (http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_gtx_285_us.html)

This problem I did not have in 0.9.

For what I have noticed you can add them to your Plan G flight plan with "Add approach to flight plan" but in reality, it does not, it just put it there for you to see but does NOT save it to your FSX flight plan (it gets saved as approach to the PlanG format but that is of no use when flying).

What you have to do is open the approach and manually add the approach waypoints to your flight plan, otherwise your flight plan will not take you to the airport but to the IAF.

Plan-G / Script stopped responding
December 02, 2010, 05:40:14 AM
This has also become very usual in both v2.0 and v2.0.1, I don't recall having it in v0.9. The problem usually manifests itself in the form of a pop up message saying that a script on the page has stopped working. It asks the user whether the script has to be stopped or not. This happens when one does zooming and panning.

Also, several times I have noticed that my Lower Airways (Victor airways) checkbox gets automagically unchecked under certain circumstances unknown to me during the making of the flight plan.

Plan-G / Use of approaches has some problems
December 02, 2010, 05:37:28 AM
I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bits, Plan G v2.0.1 with Classic theme. I have been experimenting with the approaches feature which is quite neat as it shows you the actual approach on the map. However, using it in your flight plan seems to have some problems.

To begin with, in my 1st plan (SKRG to SKBO using the following route: RNG MQU ABL BOG) I noticed that I added ILS 13L to my flight plan, it showed on the map and on the expander. I saved the flight plan in both PlanG and FSX formats. When I loaded the FSX-formatted flight plan on FSX the approach wasn't written in the actual flight plan.

In my 2nd attempt I was making my return flight plan SKBO-SKRG. I had to create two user waypoints (OSPIC and MECHI) which are in the SID (MECHI 2B and IBG 1A) prior to ABL, then RENOS then D151G (SKRG). Then I selected the ILS 36 approach to SKRG with RNG 5 transition. What happens is very weird, the map visual seems to have eliminated both RENOS and D151G from the visual vectors on the map (the line gets displaced to go straight from ABL NDB to RNG 5 (5nm inbound RNG) yet both waypoints are still shown on the actual flight plan on the expander. Why doesn't it draw the vector from the last flight plan waypoint (D151G) to the first waypoint of the selected approach?

Plan-G / Toolbar menu items disappear
December 02, 2010, 05:29:19 AM
I have noticed this problem happening almost every time I use v2.0.1 but have been unable to pinpoint why. It just happens while I work on my flight plan.

The problem manifests itself in that menu items (such as those under File) become invisible. They only become visible after you "guess" what they are and click on them, then the text becomes visible.

Along the same lines, the toolbar menu also loses its text and only the icons are visible. The tooltips appear but with a higher transparency (nearly illegible) than usual (black on yellow).

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bits, Plan G v2.0.1 with Classic theme.

Plan-G / Re: Plan-G v2.0.1.474 FSX data base
December 01, 2010, 08:05:18 PM
I don't know what you have on your FSX database, I do have some add-ons but my FSX SDF file is about 163MB and not >500MB as you say.

Initially the remote setup wasn't quite working, it did not recognize the databases I copied. I rebuilt them again with 2.0.1 on the FSX machine and copied them again and now it seems to have all data.

I need to check if the remote connection to FSX actually works as it did in 0.9

Plan-G / Re: Summary of problems found in v2
December 01, 2010, 08:03:03 PM
I updated to 2.0.1 and now the airfield that was skipped without error has appeared on my map. I don't know if it has skipped another one instead but I will see.

Regarding the import, I already mentioned what was the problem. Reproducing it is simple, simply add a comma within one of the fields such as Description.
