Feature request: User Aircraft centering

Another for your list, Tim, if possible. This one is fairly low-priority, but...

Although the Google Map display is "tied" to the User Aircraft position, the yellow icon moves quite close to the edge of the display before the map display gets updated.

I realize that updating from Google more often could have a severe effect on Plan-G performance, but it would be "nice" if the yellow icon stayed closer to the centre of the display.

What are your thoughts on this one?

This feature request has just acquired a lower priority for me since I discovered that I can drag the map to center myself at any time, even though I am "tied" to the User Aircraft position. Neat!

Yes, if the map is set to keep the aircraft centres, it'll snap back to the centre at every refresh (potentially once per second), which gives you no scope to look around on the map. The current method of constraint lets you scroll the map around, and so long as the aircraft is visible, the map will stay where you put it. To my mind, that's a much better and more useful way of having it, but there's no accounting for what people want...  ;)
