Dear all,

I just joined the que of the people with starting issues on Plan-G 2.0.1.

This software runs perfect on my main PC (Win7 + FSX installed, connection to FSX via FSUIPC 4). My idea is to connect a quite old laptop (XP + SP3) to this PC just as a moving map display because I want to benefit from the FSX in full screen mode without constant switching back and forth between FSX and Plan-G. My intention is to connect the Plan-G installation on the laptop with wide-fs to the FSX on my main PC. A registered version of FSUIPC + wide-fs is installed on my main PC already, the client is present on my laptop.

On my laptop .Net.40, Java 6.22 and Plan-G 2.0.1 are installed. When I double click the Plan-G icon the splashcreen appears, then a part of a window frame is displayed shortly. After this Plan-G shuts down automatically. The content of the Plan-G_Log.txt is as follows:

06:59:50.6
06:59:50.7 ---===+++===---
06:59:50.7 Starting Plan-G, build 2.0.1.474
06:59:50.7 OS is Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3
07:00:06.4 webBrowser_SizeChanged. Width = 726 Height = 328
07:00:07.9 webBrowser_SizeChanged. Width = 734 Height = 362
18:43:58.2
18:43:58.2 ---===+++===---
18:43:58.2 Starting Plan-G, build 2.0.1.474
18:43:58.3 OS is Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3
18:44:09.1 webBrowser_SizeChanged. Width = 726 Height = 328
18:44:10.5 webBrowser_SizeChanged. Width = 734 Height = 362
20:52:03.0
20:52:03.0 ---===+++===---
20:52:03.1 Starting Plan-G, build 2.0.1.474
20:52:03.1 OS is Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3
20:52:31.9 webBrowser_SizeChanged. Width = 726 Height = 328
20:52:33.3 webBrowser_SizeChanged. Width = 734 Height = 362

Any ideas to solve this problem? Any help would be welcome!

Kind regards
Kurt

No. Somebody else has the same problem. It appears to be somewhere in the window initialisation code within the OS, which may mean a missing or out of date component, but I have no idea what. It certainly isn't the fact that FS isn't installed on the PC, since it never gets that far.
