I am totally at a loss on connecting Plan-G on my Network PC.  Wide FS is working and connects to FSX.

Plan G is installed on the second PC, Win XP 32 bit, but will not connect to FSX.  I have the Sim Connect.XML file in stalled in the same folder as the FSX.cfg file.  It is set up for IPv4 port 4506 and I have tried several of the address suggestions.

When I open Plan G on the remote PC it opens with only the options to set FSX and load data.  Neither of these are clickable.  It also will never open with the complete ribbon at the top.  Terrain, mapview, etc are selectable.   The  Main PC is Win 7 64 bit.

Would really appreciate any thoughts,

Tom

To get the rest of the ribbon, you need to build the database. To do this either build it on your FS PC and copy it across, or set the locations paths to point to your FS PC. (Manual, page 17 applies)

Tim,

Thanks for your help but I am going to have to give up. I have tried every step in the manual but it gets just so far and then stops with an error. It just won't recognize the FSX computer even though Wide FS does.

Thanks for you help.

Hi Tim,

I decided since I couldn't get Plan G to recognize the Main PC I would go ahead and load the data so I could at least see the airports etc.  When it got loaded, the detail ribbon came up with the Connect & Disconnect click spots.

I selected connect, which it did. I took off on a flight and it tracked.  I guess you have to load data manually to the remote Plan-G instl before you can connect.
