I have just downloaded and installed Plan-G and it looks good so far. I have also downloaded one DEM file (l10g.gz) as per instructions in the manual, but i cannot get the "Plan Elevation" box to become active in View. I have opened one of the flight plan examples, and have FS9 open. I put the DEM file in the Plan-G\DEM folder. Is there something else that needs to be done?

SAPilot

Hi
Did you unzip the DEM file ?
If not, do that and place in DEM folder.

Thanks SAPilot

The GZ file looked just like an ordinary file, so I didn't think of it being a zipped file. WinZip didn't want to open it initially but it finally worked. When I unziped it the size went from 11,349KB to 126,563KB so that explains it, and it now seems OK. just need to work on it a bit more to set up a flightplan over some mountains to test it out.

Hi EchoTango
Yes I did look there before I posted, there was mention in 1 of the posts of unzipping the RAR files . I didn't have any RAR files only the downloaded GZ file. What I didn't realise was that the GZ file had to be unzipped. I wasn't sure that post was really addressing the same problem as mine. Anyway it seems to be sorted now.
