Hi Tim

For some reason, every time I file a Plan-G flight plan with FSX and use Radar Contact for the IFR flight, the flight goes wrong for some reason.  Today, I tried to fly to EGNT Newcastle twice, once from Southampton and thinking it was my fault a second try from Leeds.  Each time I was directed on to a 180 degree bearing (which is daft of course) and the second time, I got fed up and finished the flight VFR using the FSX ATC.

I've posed the question on the Radar Contact forum but because I have no trouble using Radar Contact with flights using the FSX flight planner alone, I'm wondering if there's a bit of a problem with the source of the planner or if there's a little trick I don't know of that will allow me to use both?

What is your flight plan?

Hi Tim

Thanks for the quick response.  As I said; 'to EGNT Newcastle twice, once from Southampton and thinking it was my fault a second try from Leeds.'

It was an IFR flight using at first the Aerosoft Airbus X which would not work at all and finally, thinking it might be that nervous soul, I used the Gates Learjet.

It seems that Radar Contact have had some problems with Newcastle addons for FS9 but that's probably not relevent in my case of course because I'm using FSX.  However, I can soon get rid of Tony Meredith's Newcastle and replace it with UK2000 with which Radar Contact and their other airports has been working fine.

In any case, I've noticed before that the Airbus X just doesn't seem to like flight plans from Plan G.  It simply refuses to work.  So, there's a mystery which I think I may have solved for Radar Contact with Newcastle but it still remains with the Airbus X and Plan G.

I acknowledge that I've gone from one thing to another here...sorry.

Are you saying a flight plan created by FSX will work with that airbus/RadarContact, but the same plan created with Plan-G won't? If so, can you please upload both plans so that I can investigate.

Thanks.

Sorry Tim, I never keep my Flight Plans.  Its the first thing I delete from everything after a flight.  Mainly to get rid of the bin I must admit.  Its a hang over when that was thought to be the cause of a lot of problems with failed follow on flights.

Forget it for now because I want to try the flight without AVG input and another without Radar Contact.  At least that should eliminate whether it's Tony's airfield causing the problem.

I'll have to come back to you if I find its a conflict between Plan G and Radar Contact.  I rather suspect its Radar Contact as they've said they did have some problems with a couple of airfields and Newcastle was one of them.  Although, having said that, they also said they thought they had cured them some time ago!
