I got rid of internet exploder.

Well that, I think is the problem. Plan-G needs Internet Explorer to be installed, since it uses the IE libraries.

The older plang version worked just fine tho..without ie...

markvii

I installed IE  just now but plang crashed again.

Hmm. Then we're back to permissions. Assuming the scripts have installed correctly. In your Plan-G folder you should have a JavaScript folder containing 9 .js files. If the scripts are present, the only possible cause of a DISP_E_UNKNOWNNAME error is that Plan-G is prevented from running the script. This has been the case in 100% of all instances. Now the 'usual suspects' are firewall, antivirus, IE security, login rights. Which is not to say there couldn't be something else. But something on your PC is blocking it, I'm 100% sure of that.

Now why 0.9 should be unaffected, I really don't know. The code that calls the scripts, indeed much of the basic code is exactly the same...

Correct there is a javascript folder with  9 *.js files in it. What is blocking the scripts tho I have no clue.

Well, I've installed the 478 version. It starts but after a while it hangs with the following message:

In this msg box, it states that a file or maybe its dependencies couldn't be found.
I hope this may help you to debug this problem. Thanks again.

1. Check that there are 7 files beginning SQLCE in your Plan-G folder

2. Make sure you have Run As Administrator selected for Plan-G

Alternatively 3. Reinstall Plan-G OUTSIDE the Program Files folder.

Tim. @TimArnot

Fernando Coelho

I have these ones and I've granted admin rights to PlanG executable. I'll try reinstalling it outside /Program files  and I'll feed you back with the result. Thanks

Fernando Coelho

Nope! The same error appears again. :o :o  Do you think Kaspersky's suite has something to do with this bug?
Thanks

tim arnot

Quite possibly. Although this is the first time I seen something block access to the database code.

Fernando Coelho

Hello Tim,

How are you? Getting mad with pain in the @** users? :D I'm posting back to tell you that
I tried to launch without Kaspersky suite but the same annoying error keeps on launching
itself instead. Good luck and congrats again for your patience.

Fernando Coelho

tim arnot

Hmmm. Well I'm open to suggestions...

Hello Tim,

First of all, congrats on this fine piece of software. I've been using it since 0.9 version
and have become addicted to it. Today I moved to this new version and I have the same
problem as other people have. I have just overwritten plan G2 executable with this new
one yuo've posted and it still hangs on startup. I'm running Windows 7 32 bits and my
.NET Framework is updated. PlanG 2.0 Log says:

11:27:32.2 Starting Plan-G, build 2.0.1.474
11:27:32.2 OS is Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7600.0
11:27:32.5 webBrowser_SizeChanged. Width = 759 Height = 329
11:27:32.5 webBrowser_SizeChanged. Width = 775 Height = 367
11:27:32.6 FS9 is installed
11:27:32.6 FSX is installed

Thanks

Hello/Terve,

In my Windows 7 x64 Plan-G crashes constantly until I copy file "UIAutomationCore.dll" plan-g installation directory and FSX directory.

I hope this was helpful.
