Plan-G not parsing airac bgl file? (the one I'd really need, too...)

Hi everyone, up front I'd like to say thank you to the Plan-G dev(s) for a really impressive free piece of software!

My question: I've been elated that week when I found out that there is a way to update the FSX navaid data to a reasonably current state: http://www.gbmitch.net/
After loading Mitch's data, I finally found all the intersections around my home airport (EDDS) that are requiered for any IFR routing to/from Stuttgart...
My problem: even after reloading Plan-G data from FSX (chosing the correct scenery.cfg and manually adding the AddonScenery folder), I can't find the point called BADSO in Plan-G. That's one of the point that is added to FSX through the above airac data file (airac230512.BGL).

Looking at the log file (attached) I can't find mention of Mitch's waypoint file even though it is located in the AddonScenery/Scenery folder. I can't select that file manually in the Plan-G import settings screen either; BADSO is available from within FSX e.g. in the Garmin 500 nav computer, so the import to FSX works.

Any ideas?

EDIT: What I don't get is that Plan-G obviously scans other bgl files in the addon folder - e.g. K3_VOR.BGL  -  so what's keeping it from also parsing the airac data? ...

You would need to rename it to something that looks like an airport bgl.  Plan- G does not look at files it thinks may be "scenery" or mesh etc. (so you could change the filename to start with ADE_ or apx for example)

Thanks Tim, that did it! (I'd never have thought of file naming patterns...)

I have been having the same problem. The imported file works fine in FSX - I can see BADSO. In Plan-G I can't, despite renaming it several times and rerunning the database. Nothing I do will make the new waypoints appear in Plan-G. I have renamed the file to A3_AIR, A_AIRAC, AAIR, ADE_230512a but still no show. Anyone have any ideas for me please?
Log file attached.

Obvious thing to do would be look at the log and see if the folder/file is being read during the build.

As you can see from the attached log file Tim, the scenery directory - AIRAC - is being read, but does not show in Plan-G. I have tried renaming the file without success, and this particular scan was made with the airac directory deselected in FSX; again, without showing in P-G. I'm at a loss.  :(

tim arnot

It's clearly not finding the file. What did you rename it to?

Tim. @TimArnot

John Lygo

The file - which is in the directory C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/AIRAC/scenery - is called ARAC_Updated_230512.bgl

tim arnot

So you would need to call it ADE_whatever.bgl or apxwhatever.bgl etc in order for Plan-G to scan it. (As I said above)
