Plan-G VFR Altitude Settings

I recently used Plan-G to setup a direct VFR flight from Dallas/Fort Worth (KDFW) to Salt Lake City (KSLC). Plan-G suggests an altitude of 15000. Shouldn't it suggest an altitude something like 16500 (USA VFR Rules for Westerly traffic) since MEF is 14000? Still learning flight rules.
