Hope that you may be able to help me with this.  I recently downloaded Plan-G (latest version) and after installing as well as reading through the manual to get started I find that the map does not display.  I am not on the internet at home and have to rely on my local library to access the internet and unfortunately can only get here about 3 days a week.

Have posted a screenshot and as you can see all I get are the VOR and Radials, from the manual it appears that the map should display but cannot think what I am doing wrong!  I have pointed Plan-G to my scenery config in ProgramData but still no map.  For your information I am running Win7 64bit and my sim is FSX with Orbx England Wales and Scotland installed as well as Global also have FSUIPC.

This software is brilliant but I now find that I am making a flight plan through FSX (YUK!) and importing it to Plan-G, interestingly when loading an FSX flight plan in FSX and having made a SID when I next load that flight plan through FSX I have to manually put the SID in again but when I had exported it to Plan-G the SID was still in place!!

Anyway, if some-one could kindly help I would it would be appreciated as Plan-G is not Plan-G without the map!!

I am next at the library Monday Morning.

Many thanks in advance.
Regards
Nigel.

Plan-G requires an internet connection to get its map data, and while maps can be cached for use offline (for a limited period), the providers all regard systematic harvesting of map tiles as a breach of their terms of service.

Generally though, if you have no internet service, Plan-G may not be the tool for you.

Hi Tim and many thanks for your reply, pity that internet is required for such a good programme.  There was one that I once used in FS9 that actually came with a map which was again free-ware but is now discontinued, unfortunately I cannot now recall the name of it though some-one may.

I suppose I am asking the impossible here but is there some way in the future that the developers of Plan-G may consider incorporating a map or even some way of being able to consolidate the FSX map into Plan-G?

Apart from asking the impossible, many thanks for your reply, I will still continue to use Plan-G for some flights and see how I get one with it.

Regards
Nigel.
