Good morning,

Hopefully a quick one...

As predicted in the manual, SimConnect is somewhat hit and miss when connecting FSX to Plan-G on a separate laptop, so I'd like to try the FSUIPC method.

Can I leave the SimConnect files in place and add the FSUIPC files, please?

Then I can have a choice if SimConnect is having a bad day!

Thank you.

Yup. Just run WideClient on the laptop and change the connection method in the dialog.

Many thanks, Mr Arnot.

Really enjoying your software!

Just back to say I now have WideFS installed and connection via FSUIPC is working perfectly.  :)

"SimConnect is the preferred connection option for FSX. It is efficient, fast, and provides optimal control over the information available."

As a matter of interest, what does this mean in practice, please?

As far as I can see, the only difference is that SimConnect keeps dropping out and FSUIPC/WideFS doesn't!

Having used FSUIPC/WideFS for over a week without the slightest problem, I really can't understand why anyone would bother with the very flaky SimConnect.

I know which is my preferred connection option!
