Scenario - Local not networked

Windows 10 / FSX:Steam / Plan-G - simconnect works perfectly

Install Prepar3D 3.3.5

Simconnect refuses to connect to FSX but does work with Prepar3D

I can connect to FSX using FSUIPC.

So what exactly has the P3D install managed to change to stop simconnect working with FSX?

My guess would be that P3D has set up a simconnect.xml file for the connection. FSX (at least - can't speak for P3D as I don't have it installed right now) doesn't require the xml file for a local connection, but if it's there it has to be set up appropriately. Plan-G currently doesn't handle multiple simconnect.xml files, so you'd need to rename or replace the P3D file if you switch sims.
