Dear Tim,

Many of us are using PlanG for a lot of years and we got to know and appreciate your work.
I'm with PlanG from the beginning.
I'm afraid for quite some time the maps are getting more and more insufficient especially for VFR flights.
What an eye candy is was when using the map of PlanG version 2 many years ago!

At the moment we only have one map left - OpenCycleMap - which just presents the simple basics but isn't really significant.
The offered freeware maps of "Mapbox" ( for example "Satellite" or "Emerald") are not really satisfactory in my opinion, especially when they are magnified.
So at this time there is any convincing and informative map available using with PlanG.
Hopefully this will not be a touch of the beginning of the end of PlanG.

Without mention the name of another flight planning freeware product which is using different kinds other maps I wonder if isn't possible the to make PlanG ready for maps like
- Virtual Earth (Hybrid)
- Google Earth (Satellite or Hybrid)
- or others I don't know

Regards
Dieter

Actually, there is a free version of MapBox available. If you can figure out how to make it work. I've begged for help on several forums, to no avail.

Was no problem to get them working in PlanG but as written above I'm afraid they didn't really convince me.
