Greetings!

I've been using Plan G on a Windows 10 machine for quite some time now without any problems. However, today I started planning some flights in Asia, specifically one VHHH - VLLB. I noticed most of the characters on the map are in Chinese and about 1/2 through creating the plan I got the message that Plan G is not working. What is worse is that now, when launch Plan G, it loads the map with the Chinese characters and then crashes again.

I've attached the log file.

If anyone knows of a solution, please let me know.

Thanks!
Scott

Most maps these days will show local names in the local character set. It's baked into the map, theres nothing you can change.

You can try deleting the config file, which will reset the map to its default coordinates (please refer to the readme for the location - I'm at work right now). It's possible too that if it originally crashed while building a flight plan, it's attempting to reload a malformed plan, which causes it grief -- check in Plan-G Files for a temp file. Third, I'd recommend updating to the current version (3.1.3)

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Yes, I had been in the middle of trying to build a flight plan. I ended up uninstalling v3.1.2 from that computer and installed v3.1.3 on it. Everything seems to work well, however, after that experience, I'm very leery of going back to that part of the world (map) and trying to build flight plans again....

Another question: When upgrading from .2 to .3, is it necessary to uninstall .2, or can a person just install .3 over the top of .2 (assuming .2 is working correctly).

Thanks again,
Scott

You can just install .3. No need to uninstall .2 - you can keep it and still use it from a separate folder if you want.

No need to be leery of different parts of the world - the map is just a bitmap. Makes no difference to the program what's on it.
