Can't see own plane

Hi. I've recently returned to flight simming and am a new user of X- Plane 11.  I have installed Plan-G and built the database.  Everything seems fine, I can connect to the sim and I get the little yellow arrow in the top left of the home page (which I believe from reading other posts here means that it is connected). What I do not see is my own plane.

In options>FS Connections I set it to be connected via XPUIPC. Now don't laugh at my (potentially) dumb question, but do I need to find and install XPUIPC? I've read the manual and forums as thoroughly as possible and I can't see anything stating that I need to acquire and install this third party app. Can someone put me right please.

Incidentally, my X-Plane install and Plan-G install are local to each other on one PC, D: drive.  Thanks.

Yes, you need to install XPUIPC - that's what sends the data to Plan-G.

Thanks.  Did I miss that somewhere in the documentation?
