Cross track error

Built a FP from Whitehorse Intl to Edmonton Intl
Everything works fine when exported to MSFS but the crosstrack error in the PlanG window cosnitently show an error of 150 to 200nm> the aircraft is right on the drawn track.
Maybe its calculating the crosstrack error from a simple plain sailing heading rather than the great circle route?
