Hello,

Congratulations on this superb application of virtual navigation...

What effect have winds parameters "direction" and "speed", chosen in the window opened by the icone "winds" of the menu "Home"? what is their usefulness ?

A French virtual pilot who does not speak the English language definitely...

Wind has two components - strength, ie how fast it is blowing, and direction (where it is coming from).

A typical wind might be blowing at 10 knots from the West (wind direction is ALWAYS where it is FROM). This would be shown as 270 degrees, 10Kts (in a METAR it is just written 27010)

Entering the wind in this dialog will calculate the adjustment required in your heading to maintain your planned track, and will also calculate your ground speed (assuming you have set your true airspeed)
