overlays are not turned off.

Friday Harbor (where my aircraft is located) is noted on the map and if I hover over the airport  KFHR and info shows up in the information area.

That shows it's definitely present in the database. Do you also get a tooltip show on the map when you hover in the area?

Do you see airspace being drawn, such as the Class C around Whidbey or Vancouver?

Well, I'm back again. I made some progress with Plan-G.  What I have done is I ran a search on all Plan-G files on my computer, found over 40 files as well as the installation file, I then deleted them all and then reinstalled Plan-G.
The program is now working except for 2 issues

1.   If I relocate the aircraft using "go to airport" function the program crashes and has to be restarted. If I fly to a new airport it follows properly.
2.   When I uncheck Map Overlays I loose all airports.
In my XP installation this did not happen, I do not use Map Overlays and since I find them distracting I would like to fix that function.

Is this a new function in version 0.9.1.423 or is it a problem with my installation? Is an older version of Plan-g available? One explanation of the problem is as follows.

When I first installed FSX  WIN 7 the installation was faulty. I have 2 hard drives,
C: and E: where FSX was installed. I had too reformat my E: drive and reinstall FSX to a different directory. But all the information regarding Plan G was still in the registry. I believe this could be causing my problems.

I am considering reviewing the registry and removing all instances of Plan G (there are over 50) and hopefully the new installation will go properly. I have done this with another installation that was not installing properly and after I did this all was fine.

Any comments or recommendations would be appreciated

Is it just Go to Airport? What about VORs, NDBs, user waypoints etc?  Is there an error shown in the log file?

That is correct operation. Airports are overlays, along with other navaids, airspace etc. Unchecking overlays gives you just the base map.

There's an app in the Plan-G folder called ClearAllSettings.exe. Run this and it will wipe all Plan-G registry entries.
