Plan Elevation

Having downloaded two "Tile Files" into the DEM folder and created a Flight Plan, the "Plan Elevation" box remains 'grayed out'.

Tim I have a similar problem.

I've downloaded and unzipped a selected area to the DEM folder.

You said in one thread that there should be a single file with no extension. However I have ended up with three files with bin, fmt and hdr extensions. I also have no option for a plan view; the appropriate box is still greyed out.

Am I missing something?

Are you sure you're downloading the right thing? The link is on page 18 of the manual. Just click it in Adobe Reader and it will open in your browser. I've just downloaded a tile and checked it: It's perfectly fine. Each .gz zipped tile contains only one file: f10g.gz contains the file f10g. and so on.

I had tried to be clever by selecting a specific area of of the map, rather than a whole Tile, to reduce the size of the subsequent file. I had followed the link from the Manual.

However, there doesn't seem to be an option to download the area I want in an extension free format. I have downloaded the complete Tile, as per instructions, and this works just fine.

Has anyone else been able to do what I've tried?

You can only use complete tiles.
