When setting up a network and you are adding the Plan G SimConnect data, do you modify an existing mdl file or create a new one for SimConnect.  Also I have not been able to figure out how to modify the existing one.

Thanks,

Tom

Tom,
Please see the manual beginning at page 88. The manual can be found at the File Tab -->Help -->User Manual. There is a very detailed explanation of how to set the network up with SimConnect.

Joe,

Thanks for the reply.  I have read that section of the manual several times.  But what isn't quite clear to me, is I assume this is added to the existing dll file but I don't seem to be able to modify that file.  I went to edit and changed it, but the mdl file wouldn't change.  I was editing in text but couldn't get the text back to the mdl format.

I hope I am making sense.  I am using Win 7 64bit Ultimate.

ABSOLUTELY NO! There are no MDL files. There are no DLL files. There is just one file to concern yourself with: Simconnect.xml This is a plain text file which you can create in notepad. If notepad adds a .txt extension to the end of it; just remove it.

Page 88 of the manual tells you exactly where to put it (the location is "hidden" by default in Windows, so you may need to tick 'Show hidden files and folders' in Explorer's preferences.), and exactly what needs to go in it.

Tim,

Thanks.  Sometimes when you get to my age, 77, things can get confusing.
