Simmconnect connection across 2 PCs helpful hint

I was having all sorts of trouble in trying to connect my Laptop to the FSX PC yesterday.
Kept on getting the usual connection time out problem, tried computer name instead of IP address and tried different port number.

This post was going to be a support request but I had one more go this morning and Plan-G connected to the FSX PC.   :D The only difference was that everything was loaded from a fresh boot-up from both PCs.

No settings were changed in the simmconnect.xml or within Plan-G.

Thought it might help someone struggling like me.

Yes, I can confirm everytime I get troubles trying to connect my laptop running Plan-G to my FSX PC, despite the same settings in the simconnect.xml and within Plan-G, the only workaround I also found is to restart my FSX PC (no need to restart my laptop).

And it works all the time !!!

Good to know, but I'm wondering if there is a quicker way to proceed instead of restarting the whole stuff (PC + FSX + the rest) that is really boring.
