I just completed a tour around the world - low and slow in a Cessna 414. Most of the legs gave me a track that was to the left of the flight plan. The very last leg into Toronto gave me an error to the right.

On a long leg (500 - 600 miles) the error was not a problem as it still got me there. A GPS landing was of course impossible.

A screen shot is attached. Is there a cause for this problem? Thanks.

How big is the crosstrack error? (You missed off the most important part of the picture, which is the scale) How long was this leg? How were you flying it? (constant heading, tracking outbound VOR, tracking inbound VOR etc)

Why was a GPS approach impossible?

This was a plain Plan-G GPS course from CYQV Yorkton Sasl. to CYQT Thonder Bay Ontario, leg 34 of 35 on the trip. Only one waypoint about 5 miles fro CYQT to line me up with the runway. Leg was 538 nm. 5000'. Very boring.

Sorry I didn't include the zoom factor. I was making sure I got the course deviation gauges in the picture.

I couldn't make a GPS landing because the track I was on was off the Plan-G runway by a considerable distance. I used manual for the last couple of miles.

Sorry, that didn't answer my question: How did you *fly* the leg? (constant heading, tracking outbound VOR, tracking inbound VOR etc)
