Unable to connect

Wondering if you could help me please . Doownloaded 2.05 and I get this ....(fresh reinstall -first time )
"unable to connect to remote Flight simulator(timeout) Check FSX is running and your protocol setting is correct."

Well, FSX is running and , just in case , I have allowed Plan G through the firewall.

Could you tell me more about the protocols please . If so, could you keep it in layman terms !!

FSX is running on G drive , which is a partition on main drive C:/

..of course RTFM !!. All those reinstalls I have done in my time and Plan-G just went straight in.  I guess it may be my new arrangement .
